After about a month of not playing SJRL, due to a hectic burst of activity in my life, and also WCR, I have come back to find a suprisingly good rugby league video game. When I first got the game my expectations where so high that nothing was going to reach the standards I had built in my head. Suffice to say I was a bit dissappointed, but thats not to say I didnt like or enjoy the game, because I did, it just wasnt as good as I had expected it to be.
Now I find a game that is not as arcade-like as I thought it was (WCR is as arcadey as it gets) and has a lot more depth than I gave it credit for. So now I appreciate how good SJRL actually is, despite it's shortcommings, and look longingly forward at any new installment to the franchise Sidhe might produce.

I suspect alot of people feel like this. I also bought WCR, played it for 2 weeks and realised how shallow it was, then I turned back to a neglected NRL title to find it much better than I remembered it, because like you I judged it pretty harsh due to my unbelievably high expectations (however I was always impressed with it to be honest).

I purchased SJRL the day it came out (December 9 I believe), and played some intense games with friends over the Christmas period, but then moved on to PES3 when I got that for Christmas. But lately I have gone back to SJRL for a bit, and I think it'll go on like this for quite some time. It is certainly a good game.
