I hope these "conditions" are mere formalities...

PNG joining the Intrust Super Cup in 2014...subject to a number of conditions.

One of those conditions was the outcome of the Doyle review, which they're anticipating in a few weeks.

Wonder what those conditions are? Also, the Doyle review commenced work at the beginning of the year - anyone have an idea where that's up to? Presumably, if the Doyle review ends up recommending the creation of a national open-age, second teir competition, for example, it would probably doom the entire enterprise.

So, funding is coming from the ARLC, private sponsorship... is any coming from AusAid (or whatever it is called now)? I note that the Foreign Minister, Julie Bishop, was an early tweeter of the news (calling it "excellent sports diplomacy") suggesting they're using some development money from Australia?

I just know the main criticism of this will be "why are PNG spending money on sport when they have bigger problems...?" (a criticism made of no other developing country that plays the game) It will be good to answer this with facts about the multiple sources of funding.

This is correct. Ausaid money is only for the school boys comps.

I think the Major Sponsors of the Team will be SP Brewery as their CEO was part off the press conference yesterday.
