In addition to the PNG Hunters in the Qld Cup lets get a new PNG team in the NSW cup. Port Morseby Bears?

At the international level I would allow a player to represent a country (I am particularly thinking PNG but it applies to all others except Australia and England) after playing in that countries national league or a team based in that country for a season.

That way, the two above mentioned PNG clubs would be able to attract some retiring stars (especially play makers...Chris Sandow, Peter Wallace or whoever ) into their system to improve their stocks.

You want to make international league club league?
You should have stuck by your word and had the month off.

If you had an international rule that a person can play for a country (must be a tier 2 country) after 1 year of playing for a club from that countries it would only have positive ramifications. Firstly, it would be reasonably rare, I can't see how it would apply in practice to anyone other than PNG or maybe France or Canada. Big deal.

Fiji with their nsw cup team in the offing or Serbia considering they have an American/Canadian playing there.
It’s bad enough people like Semi/Rangi can play for Oz and England without lowering the threshold further. If PNG can’t field 13 players with domestics and heritage then they should give up.
Plus having differing rules for tier 1 and 2 nations is something that should end as far as I’m concerned.

We should have rules specific for PNG. Reason? To reward the hell out of that rugby league loving country. I'd let them redraft the rules of the game.

Also its good coming from you with your multi national cricket team.

Good coming from me? Do you think I’m an ECB selector or something? I already mentioned one foreigner who I don’t believe should have played for England although you edited that out.
But while we’re on the subject of cricket I don’t like the rules as such but only ten country’s can play the full form of the game, there is no such restriction in league.

Lachlan Lam and Kyle Laybutt are both of PNG descent and both (Lam in particular) should develop into pretty damn good halves at NRL level.

Tonga nearly made a World Cup final with a fringe NRL player and a utility in their halves.
