I was staying in the city centre which wasn’t bad and wanted to see hull krs ground

this was in the middle of the day

as im walking down the street a guy walks past casually and his face was full on bleeding he’s obviously been in a fight of some sort

I was warned by hull fc fans how rough east hull is

Hull KR sounds like hell on Earth.

I'm glad I don't live there.

2003 made #1 in the book Craptown lol

then by 2017 it was europes city of culture. it’s always been a rough tough city, built on working class people. Yes it’s socially deprived, yes it’s rough as houses sometimes, but it’s also the birthplace of truly remarkable people like Amy Johnson and William Wilberforce, a historic place that saw the English civil war kick off there, hitler try to bomb it into oblivion (95% of homes damaged from bombs), thatcher try and destroy its soul through closing down its industry yet still its endures.
It’ll never win any prizes for the most beautiful or rich city in the world but it’s a very interesting paradoxical Place, where the people will as likely give you the shirt of their back if you needed it as stab you! And a hull RL derby is like nothing else in the RL world. If you get chance go and experience it.

anyway this is a PNG thread not a Kingston upon Hull thread isnt it?

Someone from Logan slagging off a city, pot calling kettle or what!
I heard they were going to base PNG in Logan but they decided Port Moresby was a nicer place lol
It's a bit like some blow hard from Kingston Upon Hull whinging about Brisbane and Sydney having too many "small" rugby league clubs, hey?

Sharks and Dragons fans would say the same about their derby.

Rabbitohs vs Roosters, Sharks vs Dragons and Broncos vs Dolphins are larger in size and value than two pub teams from Hull playing in front of 10k people.

Not even close, I’ve been to souths v roosters, 25k didn’t make half the noise of a hull derby. I did see a couple of scraps in the stand though which reminded me of derby day lol.
Only decent atmosphere I’ve experienced here that even comes anywhere close was parra v penrith at a sold out commbank a couple of years ago, until clearay got sent off then it went pretty quiet for rest of the game lol

tell that to yourself and the other dckhead who keep bringing hull up in threads lol
Mate we bring it up purely to show how hypocritical you are... you say shit about NRL doing this or that, yet you support Hull kr which measures below every metric you hold NRL clubs to...
How you fail to see that is impossible

Why do you care?
SL isnt nrl, it’s plain stupidity to be comparing views on them, context is everything.

I care about expansion, not you adding your dumb theory's and metrics to them, marketability of a club dont mean shit if the govts bankrolling it, sponsors are an easy get for a foreign country which don't really have another NRL team to compete with for sponsorship

Super League is the only professional rugby league competition outside of Australia. England is a much more prosperous country than Australia with a larger profile on the international stage. A strong Super League is good for rugby league.

Despite all of this, you're happy for rugby league in England to be confined to a few tiny villages in Yorkshire and Lancashire?

How can you not see the hypocrisy and cognitive dissonance of your contradictory stance towards England and Queensland/NSW?

You ridicule Queenslanders and New South Welshmen for caring more about Origin than Australia vs England Tests, yet here you are telling us to ignore the English game because it's shit?

Why should we care about Australia vs England when you're telling us that rugby league in England is small and irrelevant?

Reality is when the super league war started rugby league here was in its knees and in England it was cashed up to the max

in that time England wasted all that money whilst the arl boomed

blaming soccer for the games failings is a cop out

the English game is insular afraid of change

greed rules the roost

I remember when the likes of Jamie Ainscough, Chris McKenna, Jason Smith, Matt Gidley and other quality players fled to England because the pay was better. The RFL never bothered to expand the game into new markets during this period.

SL is based in a country totally dominated by soccer. It survives on the crumbs left over by epl.

I’d love RL in uk and France to be played in big cities in front of big crowds but nothing I’ve seen in the last hundred years would suggest that will ever happen.you can wish all you like, but it doesn’t make it reality.

For me International rugby league will always be the pinnacle of the game, not two states playing each other.
