Sounds like you went to Sydney UniYou have to be a little to the right of Hitler to consider the ALP in 2024 to be "Commies"

No it isn't. The premise of the bid is the Australian government trying to win over the Pacific...asking the NRL for help. That's the whole premise of the bid squid.

Trying to save face.. after being called on their bluff..
Both negotiatingI need to hear these comments fully. The telly & other sources ignored a lot of what Vlandys said & spun it into an ultimatum.
Both negotiating
vlandys wants tax breaks Aussie govt doesn’t
see who wins
Athletes village and ground upgrades more importantI want to see government built bubble in PNG so players don't get taxed, well just because it might be a more impressive feat than having an opening game in Las Vegas!

Hbf is a dumpPNG bid really is a joke. Gotta wonder how bad Perth bid is to rank behind it!
That's money where I come from. Which is Reality, Australia, Earth. No it isn't. The premise of the bid is the Australian government trying to win over the Pacific...asking the NRL for help.
The NRL are buying hotels and holding events in Vegas..we don't have any intrest in the fed unless they give us an offer we can't refuse... that was 60 million pa but the NRL said " try harder ". We want tax free exemptions, a 4 star facility to house players and security...
If V'landys wants the poor old tax payer to fund a secure housing compound for players while demanding they get tax breaks for playing in PNG then he can get f**ked. It's an insult to every Australian who is forced to fork out a significant amount of their money to fund this crap.No it isn't. China isn't going to invade Australia. Its demographics give them about 10 years to pull off an invasion on Taiwan. The one child policy they enforced until recently has set them up for a huge population bust over the next few decades. There will be too few young men of military age to prop up the economy and fight for the red army.Could be cheaper & more effective than any other type of diplomacy, but optics look bad.
Currently, the government invests significantly in rugby union in the Pacific, most recently committing on Friday to sponsoring the Queensland Reds women's and men's tours to Tonga in July.'Productive' talks, but PNG's NRL fate still uncertain
The Australian government and NRL have held "productive" discussions over the possible inclusion of a team in Papua...www.canberratimes.com.au
