Not sure whether it was in that interview or another but V`landys said expansion to 20 teams would see the NRL`s revenue triple, given his penchant for hyperbole that probably in real life means double, either way, looks like they`re realistically aiming for ~1.5b over the next 10 years.

Once these 3 expansion teams start earning the nrl a lot of money it will only encourage further expansion

3 or 4 nz nrl sides plus Fiji may be a pipe dream but would be massive for the game of rugby league as a whole

I don`t think it is a pipedream at all, I`d say three KIwi sides is a cert at some stage and Melbourne will be so big by then they`ll probably welcome a second team down there as well.

I’d be hoping in the next 5-10 years the Storm are selling out AAMI on the regular and a second Melbourne team makes sense by the mid 2030s after we get to 20 teams.

So many of Nines Tournaments being held around PNG at the moment. Well actually started before Christmas and continuing.

This ones from the Island of Lihir in New Ireland Province.
So many young talented players out their in the rural areas and outer Islands.
That's literally flying through the air to score a try.

Hope the PNG NRL doesn't get tied down to the main towns/cities only.

Maybe in conjunction with NZ and maybe Fiji? I'm sure Albo wont mind the taxpayers of Australia paying for it.

Might help png stadium get upgraded too since the biggest capacity right now is 20k and that’s not the national stadium

If they go alone it needs a lot of aust govt money like 100 million

Otherwise joint with nz and nz hosting final as png has no large stadiums
