So not a fan of any expansion bid

Oh you want proof?
Example: Australian resident under the domicile test
Emily leaves Australia to work in Japan as a teacher of English. Emily has a one-year contract after which she plans to tour China and other parts of Asia before returning to Australia to continue work here.
Emily lives with a family in Japan during her time there and rents out her property in Australia. Emily is single. Her parents live interstate and her brother has moved to France. Emily is an Australian resident for tax purposes even though she is residing in Japan because, under the domicile test:
- her domicile is in Australia (as she is a resident who has lived in Australia and will generally retain a domicile here when absent overseas), unless she chooses to permanently migrate to another country)
- her permanent place of abode remains Australia.
Your tax residency | Australian Taxation Office
If you are coming to Australia or going overseas, you may need to work out your residency for tax purposes.www.ato.gov.au
It doesn't matter if you live overseas if your clear intention is to return to Australia.
Oh and this was literally my job. I've spent hundreds of hours researching residency rules and rulings.
Any player who signs a 1 year contract would be deemed an Australian resident. 2 year contract most likely the same. 3 years+ most likely non resident.
This topic has reared off course dramatically. Called filler. The more you pack on, the more every forgets about an original poor argument.
I support a Perth bid without having a failed Sydney team forced upon them.
I support a NZ2 bid as long as it's not 50% fan owned or run by a previous failure who committed fraud.
I support another Brisbane team in the future.
I don't support govts funding the operations of professional sports teams in any sport.
Seem to remember Perth consortium fans boosting about WA government being involved. Anyway, if nz2 can pay licence fee then let them in.
Govts should build infrastructure (which is what the govt want to do). Govts shouldn't be paying coach's wages (which is what the NRL want them to do).

Tell that to Super Rugby and AFL, and until they relinquish the funds been spent on them, then we can take that higher road and not do it either, until then PNG is coming.... and possibly WA Bears if Cook had the balls to go through with investing in RLGovts should build infrastructure (which is what the govt want to do). The first 16 year old under this agreement is heading to the UK for a 5 year stint.Hull KR are excited to confirm the club has entered into a ground breaking, development partnership with leading Papua New Guinea club, Port Moresby Vipers RLFC.
Built on the storied history between Hull KR and Papua New Guinea, the unique pathway will allow two juniors from Port Moresby Vipers to link up with the Robins’ Academy, play for the U18s side and aspire to play for the club’s First Team.
After establishing the first direct development pathway of its kind with the Papua New Guinean domestic side, Hull KR will now look to identify talent from the Port Moresby Vipers before the players join the club’s junior set-up ahead of the 2024 Academy season.
The partnership is exclusively between Hull KR and the Vipers across both the NRL and Super League. The relationship opens a new development path for the club and the island nation with Port Moresby’s junior players selected for the Robins’ Academy being designated as federation-trained players should they sign for the club’s first team.
During their time with Hull KR, the prospective players will be given comprehensive education and welfare support whilst with the Robins to aid their personal development and integration into the new environment.
Thats great, good luck to him. Hopefully it helps develop as a player and a person. The first 16 year old under this agreement is heading to the UK for a 5 year stint.
He'll be 21 when his contract ends and hopefully he will have successfully developed into a good player.

That sort of post isn’t worth responding. Governments spend all sorts of money on a huge amount of different things that most people wouldn’t even be aware of. This is a tiny drop in the bucket of what our government spends every year.Tell that to Super Rugby and AFL, and until they relinquish the funds been spent on them, then we can take that higher road and not do it either, until then PNG is coming.... and possibly WA Bears if Cook had the balls to go through with investing in RL
This is the existential crisis facing PNG.Thats great, good luck to him. Hopefully it helps develop as a player and a person.
Yet you responded anyways, by basically saying the government spending is already outrageous, so why not just fund the next three expansion licences in PNG, Perth and South Island NZ, which is probably where we are heading... tourism via govt funds, build it and they will come...well the thread posters here are generally thinking the opposite, why should our aus money go to a privately funded rival code clubThat sort of post isn’t worth responding. Like I know I’ve used this before but right now in the Hunter we’re having a useless bypass being put in that’s going to end up costing well in excess of 2 billion dollars just to hopefully maybe reduce congestion a little bit. This deal is a fraction of that one road being build in one rural area on Australian.
Honestly this seems like a better spend of money than so much of the shit I see our government doing.
I meant the post you were responding to, I was agreeing with you. Personally I’m totally fine with how much we’re taxed though I think large corporations and the big resources companies should actually pay their fair share too.Yet you responded anyways, by basically saying the government spending is already outrageous, so why not just fund the next three expansion licences in PNG, Perth and South Island NZ, which is probably where we are heading... tourism via govt funds, build it and they will come...well the thread posters here are generally thinking the opposite, why should our aus money go to a privately funded rival code club
Especially in PNG or Fiji or NZ, wherever, etc, etc
I agree with you the amount of money they've taxed from us is a joke, and coz they are raking it in they are spending it on random rubbish, instead of giving it back to our pockets, but that not going to happen, so if they are going to fund my favourite sport in some weird way... its better than nothing
He'll feel at home locked up in a compoundAs suspected, players like him who are suddenly out of a contract and getting low offers from their current Clubs will probably consider signing up.
