Gus is certainly not short of job opportunities…. But I don’t get vibes that setting up PNG will be one that he would consider too seriously …. Too much chance of failure…
True but it’s not going to fail in the first two years. It’s a job he can do remotely and he would get paid handsomely for it.

If the dogs were winning comps maybe but his job isn’t done yet there

Maybe in the unlikely event they win next year and he’s offered big dollars as you say

Guys a gun it’s a good idea

His prime tasks were to rebuild the Dogs roster and fix their salary cap. By the end of 2027 he would have pretty much accomplished that.

If he likes challenges and it seems he does (Panthers, Warriors and Dogs roster and financial rebuilds + Dragons assessment) then this would be quite the challenge.

Don't want to really turn this into a Roosters thing but the Roosters haven't signed a big marquee player in years let alone got one for unders. Brandon Smith is probably the closest to a marquee player we've got in the past 4 seasons and I think you'd agree that on 850k a season we overpaid.
Well too bad you brought up the unfair label, and your obviously a chook fan, and the Roosters have a very good record in all things unfair for the rest of the clubs to whinge about
With PNG even if it is for the first few seasons it still doesn't seem to be fair. For me personally if PNG came along and took Nathan Cleary off the Panthers (Just as an example) simply because PNG can offer incredible amounts of money that'd be really unfair on Penrith and they couldn't realistically compete with the offer. Why take 1.2 million from Penrith and walk with 750 -800k after tax when you can sign for 1.2 million for PNG and take all 1.2 million? An extra 400 - 450k in your account at the years end is hard to say no to regardless of how loyal or committed to staying in Australia you are
Players are allowed to make there own decisions
Unfair for panthers fkn give me a break,we've lost 3-4 1st graders per season coz of our success, you'd never see the Roosters lose that roster, if it could do what we have done
I think what would have worked best is a marquee system not unlike what the A League soccer league does. PNG could've had 1 Australian marquee that gets the no tax salary up to a million dollars and a Papua New Guinea marquee slot that gets the no tax salary if eligible. That would allow the new PNG side to get themselves two marquee players with a slight advantage and allow them to sign the best PNG player available in the market
Nope, just accept it, they will have a recruitment advantage over the rest of the clubs, much like the sydney city Roosters and the "future planing" or being close to Bondi Beach whatever excuse they use to swindle players from a better deal they could get at another club on unders for some reason

PNG golf courses aren’t on par with those in the eastern suburbs

Oh look politis lost again on the 9 holes again, wonder why he bothers playing golf, he seems to shank it every time
Probably wishes he won against Brandon smith last time

So good seeing Penrith dominating clubs like roosters can’t buy comps anymore it’s the best

Clubs like the dolphins and png will be strong going forward as they have been set up right from day one with a focus on juniors

True...... but the 9 foot high, razor wired fences keep those pesky annoying ball stealers from sneaking out onto the fairway.
You and always green should stop posting about rugby league and start a comedy circuit

But then again all those analytical rugby league posts would be missed

Dont worry, I can be as serious as a conservative on an ABC current affairs show when I want to be.

In this current day world some levity is a good thing.
