Good news on the coe

Really hope the athletes accomodation isn’t the one at the airport it’s too remote and players will get bored

I’m sure they could address security issues with the one on the water

Hopefully they’ve consulted the rlpa for their preference

I think if you want to attract players to png then being on the water is a far better lure than being close to the airport
I was surprised when they decided to change grounds and go back to santos

I think they should consistently sell our santos then go for 30 to 40k

I don’t think even 25k will be big enough long term

Broncos started at the old lang park which as a dump in their first season and crowds were around 14k average and they hit over 40k before super league kicked in

Yeah I would also prefer they be accommodated on the waterfront.
We have a family home on the opposite the Airways Apartments on the other side of the Airport runway and the noise from planes can be unbearable sometimes.

And I think the reason for going back to Santos Stadium is because the COE is going to be built just next door on land which is currently the softball/baseball diamonds used by the PNG Softball Federation.
I believe the PNG Government has more or less annexed it for Rugby League and will be moving the Softball elsewhere.

I asked a journo who works for the nrl he said santos was more ready for games right away and they want to see how crowds go before looking at building a bigger capacity maybe at Hubert Murray

The other stadium was in a better spot too

Looking at google maps santos isn’t as well located

Capacity is going to be a huge issue 15k it’s going to be hard for many people to get tickets

Things are looking good though think most league fans will be shocked down the track when the club gets truly established

Hoping the chiefs sell out every game and the conversation quickly turns to upgrading the better located and with better bones Hubert Murray into a 25k all seater venue.

Probably talking about this guy from Yorkshire but it was last year.

The more recent guy is this one but he is from Sydney.

I’ve traveled to England to watch league games might wanna go do the same in png one day. Haven’t been overseas in 15 years

Be interesting when the chiefs are in the nrl and Aussie fans going to games there and being blown away by the fan base
