The guy is a legend. He's miles better than Thurston for a start.
With St Helens Long has bordered on perfection this season. That comes on the back of the most dominant set of forwards in the world at club level, meaning he was always kicking from outside his own 40.
With GB missing Keiron Cunningham, who is still peerless in the sport, GB's pack won't make those kind of in roads into the NZ or Aus packs. I can see Long kicking under pressure from inside his own 20 repeatedly. How many scrum halves in rugby league could cope with that?
dont get me wrong, i am a long fan, but to say he is miles better than thurston is rubbish. i dont know if he is better than him at all, let alone miles better. i must say tho, ive always thought longs kicking game has been terrible (judging from gb games), but i was at the super league grand final and his kicking game was unbelievable.
as for cunningham without peer, i assume you are joking. he isnt half the player buderus is or has been, and cameron smith is on his way to challenging buderus as the number one hooker in the game. these two are neck and neck, with farah and priddis behind them. cunninghammight get a look after these guys.....maybe.
