I can understand that some people cannot grasp the subtle differences between a "merger" and a "joint venture".

Suffice to say that St George is alive and well.

South sold their souls once that dump of a club was privatised

Get your facts straight dumb arse drag queens... Souths are partly privatised and their members still retain full rights and control over;

- The Club name ("South Sydney District Rugby League Football Club") and nickname ("Rabbitohs")
- Rabbit logos, team colours & team song
- Home ground being a venue within the South Sydney District (excluding ANZ Stadium)
- Entry into a merger, joint venture, amalgamation or any similar arrangement with any other rugby league club
- Any decision to publicly list the share capital of the South Sydney Rabbitohs on the stock exchange.

None of the above can be changed without the approval of at least 75% of the club membership. All this means is that HaC and Crowe have management control over the club, whilst the members have full control over Souths key heritage elements.

On the other hand, you merkins lost your identity when you merged with another NRL club altogether and had to register a totally new team/club with the NRL.
You were also partially privatised when WIN Television bought a $6.5 M share in the St Geoge Illawarra club in 2006. But never let the facts get in the way of a good story eh....

Meh, you're still playing nowhere near home. Soulless club playng in a soulless stadium.
You must be confusing the only Sydney based NRL club to make a profit last year (who also have the highest sponsorship and membership in the NRL), with the truly soulless Eastern Suburbs... sorry Sydney City, um Sydney, er Bondi Roosters who have f**k all fans, members, juniors or sponsors (except a frozen chook factory and uncle nick to pay your bills).

Come on Roosters, fire up.... there's been far too much man-love going on lately between our 2 clubs. Bring back the hate I say.

Lol, I love this 'difference between a merger and a Joint Venture'

No difference. Either way St George and Illawarra are no longer first grade clubs, can no longer win their own premierships. Since they're together in their battle for one, I'd see them as being a merger.

You and every other human with a brain NT.

The other one I love is "it wasn't a merger, it was a takeover".:lol:

How good was last year though.

How many times were we told that if the Dragons won the premiership it would be St George's 16th.

Is that SSFC or Blackcourt Investments? You're not even a club but a shelf company.

Yes.... Yes.....

Let the Anger flow through you.

Your hate will make you powerful.

*Takes off the Emperor robe and assumes normal identity*

There has been far too much "love" in this forum of late. About time some of you blokes got stuck in.

BTW big lol at the St Merge fans who have wandered in here to comment on the oldest rivalry in Rugby League. Piss off and stick to your own forum where you can proudly proclaim yourselves to be March, April, May premiers, yet again, before folding like a paper crane in the finals. I understand that you are only a newly formed club and as such, haven't had time to form a decent rivalry with any of the other NRL clubs as yet, but please, don't try to pinch ours...

I have to say that if there is one thing I find funnier than giving it to the SHF after a 50 point arse raping it is when we join together to patronise the true scum of the league. And long may it continue.

At the end of the day we are both 102 years and still fighting. The Merged Filth are what now? 10 years?

Oh when the Saints
Go merging in
Oh when the Saints go merging in...

Souths and Easts have lived in disharmony for over a century, who the f**k are these stmerge sellouts to tell either club a thing or two.

Win at least 10 you peasants before even considering entering into such a debate.
