Positives.

There are actually a few positives out of todays game:

  • I will save money next year by not having to buy a membership.
  • I get two hours back every week (4 when the TC match is telecast) which will add up to nearly two full days of extra time over the course of the season.
  • I can get back into winter cricket which I gave up a few years ago because the games always seemed to clash with the Raiders.
  • I no longer have to desperately search for pubs showing the Raiders or track down illegal online streams when I'm in London for a few months later this year.
  • The associated costs of merchandise and tickets I buy every year should buy me a nice new bat for next summers cricket season.
I highly reccomend you make one of these lists. It's therapeutic.

The biggest positive for me is we are limping towards the off-season. That is all.

My positive is not having to watch the second half since I recorded it but know the result already.

I have to say this is a great thread, we have virtually a full strength team and we play like this only means Campo wont save us and we are wooden spoon specials, get your money on us now before it drops even further.
Terrible efforts and players not wanting to back each other up will mean we have the wooden spoon already.
cant tackle cant play cant do anything right and cant even have the balls to sack a coach that has obviously no inspiration to the playing roster

Pretty sure you blokes were saying the same things haflway through last season too ..

FMD, Round 8 and you are all jumping off the bandwagon.

In 2005 we were 1-5 after 6 games, won in the last minute on Anzac Day against the Roosters and our season catapulted from there .. only 2 more losses for the rest of the season, =1st with Parra ... obviously lost to Tigers in the Prelim, but from where we were at virtually the exact same situation as where Canberra are now, it was a good effort.

You blokes have the talent .. and as people always say, form is temporary, class isn't.

I won't deny that seeing Canberra getting reamed isn't funny for me given the things some Raiders supporters were saying about the Dragons just before and then during the Finals campaign ... but some of you need to get your shit together.

If Canberra launch a stunning late season fightback, I wonder if you blokes will be on here telling each other that the Raiders are morals for the Premiership because they've won 12 of their last 14 matches ...

DR I'm not a Raider's fan, I just live in the place, but my sons both support them so we go to nearly all the matches.

It doesn't show up on the telly, but there is a real deathly pall hanging over this team compared to last year's bad run. The body language is all negative. The rot seems to have set in deep. They are being booed from the field. I couldn't tell you when I think they might next win (probably against the Dragons in July so my sons can continue to hang shit on me!).

Sure they have the talent and will eventually find their mojo, but it won't just happen like it did last year. They need more than just a group hug and a bit of self belief.

This isnt a rut we're in. Something is seriously rotten in Canberra right now. God knows what, but we won't just magically snap out of it.

Which is a real pity because as a life long Dragons fan who has lived in Canberra for 15 years and swore I'd never support the green machine, they've really grown on me lately.

I even went to see them at Penrith the night before the Dragon's SCG clash with the Doggies and it wasn't just to keep my son happy.

Waiting for the next loss so you can continue the death ride, Timbo?

Two wins in a row and not a single post from you about it.

I thought (hoped) you'd necked yourself before the Storm game.

Positives - string another four wins together and add the two byes and my preseason bet is alive again. Go you Raiders! When are the two props and 5/8 due back?

*shrugs*

You want to be happy about the season, be my guest. I'm hoping we do keep this run going, it still doesn't change the fact that we've had one of the worst starts to a season with one of our best rosters on the paddock.

This same thing happened last year, all of these people came out of the woodwork screaming 'aha! caught you! you're not a real fan!!!' because we were pissed off that we were 5-10 at round 18. Well, like last year I'm not upset we knocked over two heavyweights in the last two weeks, I'm upset that we're still dead last going into Round 12 at 3-8. And I'm still concerned about the Tigers match where the players did something I've never seen a Raiders outfit do: give up.

We may go on a run from here, I hope we do. But I can't be happy about this season so far.

As I've said from the start, the biggest concern for me is not the on-field stuff - that will always have ups and downs due to the evenness created by a salary cap.

My concern is our board room. Unfortunately just when it looks like they are about to be exposed, the players save them.

Don't get me wrong, I love that we are winning again, but it's frustrating knowing that the board room will all be back-slapping each other for being the reason it turned around despite it actually being the complete opposite.
