You don't really beleive in fairytales Marduk do you. Bailey is using us to get a better contract with another club. I want to see how gangbusters he will be going after june 30.

So your opinion is that, Bailey's only going well for the Sharks to up his price on the open-market, and that once/if he signs with another NRL club that he's going to hang up his hat and have a bludge for the rest of the season.

Like I said in another post... I have never met Phil, but I can't see him doing that.

Maybe I do beleive in fairytales. Or is it just giving someone the benefit of the doubt???

I quess Phil will just have to prove me right or wrong.

Mark Riddell if he's off contract. Strong impact player, versatile and a good goal kicker (at least compared to BK).

I know he's not an 80 minute player, but that's why we have the interchange. You can see the difference he makes to the Dragons every time he comes on. He would be an ideal replacement for Bailey, assuming he is on his way. Can play hooker, backrow and I'd have him as a centre ahead of Bailey.

He has had discipline problems in the past but seems to have overcome them this year.

Also is a cult hero to the Dragons so pinching him would piss them off big time, therefore double bonus for us.

Riddel has an ordinary year on the feild & with the boot. he is a career 75% kicker however.
But I would rather get Owen Craigie than him.
Just on that, Craigie would be a bargain purchase & Seers will not be resigned one would imagine.
This may get a bit of ribbing, but as a low end of the scale purchase based on stringent performance conditions, it would have to be a thought.

Also, the UK would have to be worth a look for any players wanting to come home.
4 years ago, Tony Carrol was playing in the UK & then retired. He turned up at the Broncos after no other club was interested in him & asked for chance to trial & ended up getting signed for match payments. Now he would have to be the number 1 centre for QLD & the first picked in this years Origin. 3 years after he was going to retire.
it's not always about developing young players.

Owen Craigie

The Pig hasn't been going too bad this year. Obviously the city selectors disagree with your appraisal Reefy.

I find his form to ability ratio quite low.

The fact that he is so overweight & can't play more than 50 minutes is also quite shocking.
He is so many lightyears from a Buderus or Priddis it is not funny. No way should he have ever come into contention for NSW.

There'll be plenty of depth bought this year. A large portion of our mediocre, under-performing lower graders are getting the chop

definitely need a bit of a clean broom thru the place. trouble is finding the right players, available, for the holes we need filled, at the price we can afford.

i'm expecting a few of our lower graders to develop for next year but we still need to buy a bit of experience to supplement them, especially if stevo and/or peach hang up the boots

I have consistently maintained that Riddell is a useless fat f*ck, who is lucky to last the run down the tunnel at the start of each game. I have seen nothing of late to warrant any variation to this opinion.

Having said that, Dykes makes him look pretty good...

Vince Mellars broke his hand/finger against Manly and is out for 10 weeks. Says so in the LU article about the warriors team named this week.

Look carefully at retaining players and improving them . We must not let gallen go and we must bring on Newton and Galloway as props. The only positions I would be looking at would be fullback and centre. I dont know of any centre's coming on the market and I would move Franze to fullback. The club must be a "Dykes" free zone!

Carina, Franze is quite possibly the second worst player at the club at the moment.
Just after Merrit.
I have no idea why you would consider putting a person of such little pace, poor passing technique, inability to jump, ahead of Peach.

I don;t understand all the anti Peach sentiment sometimes.
That tackle on mini was a classic example of what every other player at the club can't do. As was his try the week before.
That tackle was the when the squad should have lifted the other night, but they failed badly.
At this stage we have no game breakers/turners other than peach.
