Nicole Pratt has been dropped from the Fed Cup team this week after refusing to play if Tennis Australia did not pay her.

Well Hewitt gets paid US$150,000 each weekend he plays DC (as do the other Australian men) - so potentially $600,000 a year. The Aussie Fed Cup players only currently get US$3,000 each weekend. So it's a huge difference.

The reason Agassi, Sampras, Chang never played DC for the US was because they wanted more than the US$500,000 per weekend, but the US only pays US$250,000,

And remember Alicia Molik is also refusing to play because of insufficient payment.

Well I wouldn't play if I wasn't getting paid either, its her job. Who shows up to their job knowing they won't be paid?
