You dont understand how they work. The tigers started so low that its hard for them to climb. While a team like Storm or Cowboys will be 1 and 2 but will still be top 5.

Ahh... ok teams start with 1000 points. Then points are deducted from last years results and added or minussed with recruits and losses.
You then sqaure root the percentage of poor effort over the last 12mths and mulitply that figure. Than I add the strength of schedule and we start with that amount oh and your coach also gets points.

Now games use diff stats that divide the above numbers. And weather also is a factor. It takes hpurs to work them out and why I dont write to much detail cause its draining after all the calculations are done.

I never really got the whole power rankings thing, I know the media produce it so they have more click bait and we do it here at LU, but what does it achieve ?

The power rankings are basically the same as the NRL ladder, I mean if Parra won the NRL premiership, I wouldn't give a shit what our power ranking was.

But carry on.

I think it's a fair look at a snapshot of current form. It's a better look at who is likely to win that week than just looking at the competition ladder.

Parra now have the Hayne factor so jumped a few spots.
Panthers gained Maloney
The raiders i just gave the big spike. Just a gut feeling. Raiders have almost been forgotten but where rated top 4 for 2017. They lost a heap of games by less then one score. They are a team that seems to go one year up and one year down. This will be the up year.

Titans lost a heap and signed average. Prior to eels signing Hayne read the first page when Titans where a lot higher in power rankings.

Knights have also made some good signings.

I reckon every side has a chance to make top 8 bar the Titans. I even give NZ and tigers slim chances.

There isnt a lot between 5th and 13th as far as squads go. A lot will come down to winning one score games. Rooster where 12/14 i think while raiders may of been 1 or 2/8. Imagine those close ones ended 5 out of 8. 8 points puts them not only in the finals but maybe top 4 pending who they took points off.
