Maybe his brother or future sister-in-law (not trying to offend local LGBTQ+ Nazis) have more pressing issues that dictate the date (like being posted to Antarctica for 12 months, have a bun in the oven etc etc etc)

It’s not Moses missing childbirth to play a prelim. It’s a trial he’s missing, I’m sure he didn’t spring it on the club this week, and that’s why he played big minutes last week.
Trials are generally more about tackling and getting tackled in anger, not really any tactics or anything that he’ll miss out on.
I also suspect it’s a fairly convenient way to improve our side of contract negotiations. “Hey we ain’t even mad you missing trial game to go to your brother’s wedding… is your mum going to be there? Remember when she said you should stick with us for everything we did for you as kid?”
