Iosia Soliola - Roosters. Very talented teenage centre who killed them in first division.

Yeah Sia gets my vote. Was Junior Kiwis captain and looked good. You Roosters seem to be giving him big wraps

Thats because most of us were pissed off with the Salary Crap. Stuart wanted him to replace Hodges in first grade this year, but because we'd already spent our limit that wasnt possible. Soliola or Hodges ?? Every single one of us would have chosen Soliola !!

Tom Learoyd from the Broncos, he's played first grade but I think only a few games off the bench, still qualifies i think and with the retirement of Tallis, the departure of Meyers, and the continued softness of Carlaw he should get more opportunities, biggest player at the Broncos and also one of the quickest.

He'll go well next year, should have a good season.

All the best to him, he's a massive player though!

They cant have played first grade before huh? Was gunna say Heath Le'Strange but I think he played a couple of games in 1st's this year. Gunna put my money on Tim Smith from the Eels.

I'm pretty sure the rule is that if you haven't actually started a game, then you're still eligible for ROTY. So because Carney's played 3 games off the bench, I think he'd still be eligible next year.

Berrick Barnes from the Broncos will be the 2005 rookie of the year. He's already represented Australia this year, and he's an awesome player from what I've seen.

For the Dragons it will probably be Wes Naiqama, he was excellent in PL this season. He woulnd't be 1st choice but considering how much time Gasnier spends on the sideline he'll probably get his fair share of games.

From the Eels (now that Davis isn't coming at least not this year)

Tim Smith*
Daniel Backo
Weller Hauraki
Joel Reddy
Blake Green*
Marcus Perenara*

*all 3 are young halves I can't see them all getting enough game time to win the rookie of the year but I think that at least 1 of them will it depends on which plays more games.

would Gary Topou, that huge winger from the broncos cvlassify as a rookie???
I'm pretty sure he would, I think you need to have played no more than four fiurst grade matches to qualify and Tupou's only played 2, maybe 3 max.
