Predicted ladder position for Dolphins in 2023

I've done the ladder predicter on the NRL site and the best I could hope for was 7th. My actual prediction is 15th.

FYI, since entering the BRL in 1960 and the Qld Cup in 1996, Redcliffe have NEVER won the wooden spoon.

Keen to hear yours.

13th-12th would be an acceptable outcome. A lot will depend on the pack, its performance and its ability to be on the field every week. The backline doesn't look like its got lots of points in it so the pack will need to be working hard to keep scores down.

According to my ladder predictor, I've got them winning six games which was enough to jag them 12th. I expect the competition to be a lot closer than that, so I'll say 14th. They'll jag enough victories and be competitive in enough games to avoid the spoon but I can't see them being in the running this year.

I think they'll focus more on Mal Meninga Cup, Hasting Deerings and Queensland Cup to build combinations and give themselves an opportunity in 2024 and 2025. With players being front-loaded their salary, I expect them to be very active in the market and they'll pick a few out of favour players up mid-season.

I got them winning enough games to get to 30 points including the 3 byes,
titans x2, broncos×2, bulldogs, tigers, knights x2, dragons x2, manly, parra...
Could be more not sure on their games with the warriors, i reckon warriors roll them

They'll be in finals if they hit 30 points

Post me your list of which team they beat...
Ive got parra and manly travelling south down the ladder, and dolphins are gonna want to smash brisbane twice, the rest of them are beatable, maybe not the bulldogs if they go on the up, especially with ciraldo, but that might not gel asap, so i got the phins winning that encounter

Wherever the dolphins finish the bigger picture for me is that they establish themselves with the local population in the south east Queensland region.

That being said I think they’ll finish 16th.

Very good point. I’ll think they will be competitive but I’m more curious to see TV and crowd numbers.

If they are really positive on those things then that will drive support for an additional side

best chances of points imo, brisbane (first game) titans (home game), tigers, knights x2 (my tip for wooden spoon) and warriors. Maybe some points against dragons but hard to know how they’ll go this year.
That’s probably it.
12-14 points + byes will be around 12th/13th which is where I’ll think they’ll land.
They’ll start with enthusiasm but as season wears on and injuries hit i don’t see them winning too many at back end. Could be wrong though, they are a total unknown in how the team will gell and the fringe players will step up to regular first grade, fingers crossed they prove me wrong and make playoffs, that would be awesome!

I actually think the opposite, crowds and tv ratings won’t make any difference re a club in perth or Wellington. Performance on the field will be the key metric to nrl re player depth to keep expanding or not.

I actually have them winning one of their first 2 games (both at home)

Roosters have been pure poo in round 1 under Robbo and Canberra aren't much chop.

Ultimately I reckon between 6-8 wins and avoiding the spoon. They will cause a boil-over or 2 throughout the season but a few of their losses will be complete floggings as well.
