Just did the NRL Ladder Predictor, trying to be as objective as possible, and this is how the finals came out:

Wests (4) v Dragons (5)
Manly (3) v Warriors (6)
Brisbane (2) v Newcastle (7)
Storm (1) v Cowboys (8)

From there I ended up with the GF being a News Ltd circle jerk:

Although with a bit of luck the Foran/Cherry axis of awesome may get Manly through...

When I looked at the draw I had Melbourne pencilled in for 2 losses (Dragons and Manly) now that Cronk is out, and Manly going undefeated from here. I think Manly are more likely to finish 1st than 3rd.

Possible but not very likely. For Manly to finish top they'd either have to win all 3 and Storm lose all 3 (Roosters being the last game) or if Storm only win 1 of the last 3 and Manly all of theirs, Manly will still have to make up a 66 point deficit on Melbourne which is highly unlikely.
