It is still nice to know if there will be junior games on when NRL is at away games interstate.

I dunno it seems to be getting more out of whack each year
I'm led to believe that is mostly our (balmain and wests) fault

Typical!  *just jokes*
I thought that Premier League was also looking at moving away from the NRL games, but not sure if they are making a start in 2006 or when.

A draft has been released but there will be changes. It's a mess IMO.

The trouble is it separtes PL from JF and increases costs something that NRL sides cannot afford let a lone us stand a loners.

I think it is a horrible move... PL and JF belong with the NRL IMO.
It is such a wonderful day to be able to go and watch all 3 (or 5) grades play.
It will be a damn shame if they separate them

Can anyone explain the reasons for this?

The only issue I could see would be for Friday night games, where the early kickoff could compromise the young flegg players study or work commitments. But other than this I can only see the packaging of Flegg with Premier League and NRL as beneficial for the clubs, supporters and the youngsters themselves.

I enjoy cheering for all three grades and getting an idea of the talent coming through the ranks.

Are they splitting Premier League and Jersey Flegg?

It would be a disaster. I would probably only be able to see Flegg games half as much if they were split.

Yeah. Depending on whatever draw they came up with most of us would only see JF and the NRL game and miss Ressies, and that would be a huge shame

I just split this thread from the junior draw discussion because there were two seperate discussions.

Anyway i have heard more about the draft of the Premier League and Jersey Flegg draws. I think they need to totally re-do it. It won't work the way they have it at the moment.

Thats sweet, if anyone has more up to date info on the plans for the split Premier League comp that would be appreciated. My info was from early last year so I am unsure of any further details

I didn't see the draft myself but the rumour i heard was that nrl, premier league and jersey flegg didn't match up.

Which is just stupid because it would make it impossible for fans to watch all grades.

I hope it changes.

I wonder when they will release it. It's pretty close to the season now.

Having seen Newtown's part of the draw (the draft draw) I think it is no different to previous years. For the most part you match up but there are some oddities.

NRL clubs would argue strongly against having few or no match ups. They (like all clubs) like to line up all three grades for organisational and financial reasons. It's usually clubs like Newtown and Norths that get stuck with the variations. I reckon the Jets have made more trips to Canberra than John Howard has in the past five years.

The Magpies have put their draw up on their website.

Only 13 times do they play the same team in Premier League and Jersey Flegg.

They play the Bulldogs, Eels, Jets and Tigers 3 times and play the Cougars, Rabbitohs, Raiders and Sharks only once.

I can't understand why they can't have the draw the same as last year were every team played every other team twice and where most PL and JF games lined up.
