The Newtown v Newcastle game will be very interesting.
Newtown had an unexpected loss this week, and Newcastle could have a very strong side with the possibility of players like Tighe, Mullen, Price and Quigley dropping back from firstgrade as the Gidley brothers, Simpson and Brown etc return from injury.

Newcastle will be a toughie at the "home" away from home.

I'm hoping for the Jets and Canberra to win. This will bunch up the top 4 a bit more and give the Jets a better shot at first in the coming weeks.

I see some dickhead has listed Newtown on the team sheets as "Newtown Cronulla". They made the same mistake at the start of the season and then fixed it. THEY SHOULD SACK THE INCOMPETENT %#$@!

Bears beat the Magpies 30-20. The Bears were on top the whole match but the Magpies scored two late tries to boost their score.

no doubt they were the better team all game girvie, but geez that's no boast. It was one of the lowest games I've ever seen and I've been following the Magpies since 78 so you know I've seen more low games than any man should be forced to endure. Well done to the Bears, you have a shot at 8th. but you'll need to play lots better to take it. You should have put 60 on us.

On the positives, for f*ck sake Bears ditch that abortion of a jersey the Flegg boys were in and give em those lovely jerseys the Premiers lads had the honour of wearing. Very fine looking strip that.

Jets beat Newcastle 36-8. A good hurdle to overcome going into next week'sd clash with the Saints.

Yeah the Bears made a lot of errors and didnt finish off a few movements. And our last 5 minutes was atrocious. We played better the last couple of weeks.

I agree with you on the jerseys. Premier League=good. Jersey Flegg=not good.

Canberra were well in control of Parramatta, up 24-0 with 10 minutes to go. It was the first time I've seen the top of the table Eels this season and I really couldn't see what all the fuss was about. They were average.

Canberra are dangerous at home - like their firsts in the early 1990s.

Parra have had a couple of hiccups of late. The competition is heating up as we get to September.
