I want to like Price but after watching yesterdays post match press conference I can't. He said he will leave the recruitment for next year up to the executive recruitment team? Why?

He's just been given another year - possibly two (heaven forbid) and he's going to "concentrate on what he does best which is coaching the footy team". Don't all first grade coaches have a say or at least lead the recruitment within their club????

You would hope he'd have a big hand in who comes and goes. That is the case with the veteran coaches who have won premierships. Is he for real?

Agree today we saw the difference between a good team us and a premiership contender. Heads up we tried our best just wasn't our day, every trick shot they pulled also came off.

Wasn't our day?? Our best form possible - will prove to be 'not our day', 7 days a week. We are waaaay off the likes of Melb, Souths, Roosters and probably Manly too.

And that's what gets my goolies.

The culture that we have adopted, seemingly under Price's leadership (and i use the term loosley) - we accept mediocrity. It's normal. It's US. Just because it is the culture of 8 or 10 other clubs too - well, it won't win us a premiership again. It's not good enough.

Seriously ...are the players each and every one really being challenged by Price?

...I hope, more than believe so.

The Club perhaps views him as a liability in the negotiating process with possible new signings, assuming of course we are still interviewing. How can a head coach, oops that should be head lame duck coach, not have any say in recruitment. I just cannot see his value to the club unless he resigned for half of what he was previously on.

This whole Price coaching saga is verging on facial. Our coach, yes even Price, should be so constrained. It makes us look ridiculous. In the post match presser Price said recruitment would be handled by the Executive Team. We are surely entitled to know who the team members are?

I am of the opinion that a large portion of this can be attributed to players getting comfortable...

I would like to see alot of these first graders have serious pressure put on their positions... for example if soward/fien don't fire against manly, they are replaced by a suitable lower grader (Drinkwater perhaps)... I know that it didn't work at Penriff when they did it... but i really feel like we have some very comfortable players not putting in the hard work at training...

just my opinion, but i would love to hear the views of the players themselves (honest views that is)

You know Old Timer, I think I've given up. I have never seen our Club so hoplessly run and so badly coached.

I've followed the Dragons for a long time now; my whole life infact. However, the events of the past few months have left me wondering about our Club's immediate future. I truely would like to see a good clean-out and some professional people put in charge. Clean them all out Board through to coach; they're all hopless.

People on here often joke about Doust and his Crownies however, it's really a case of Doust and his cronies.

God help the Dragons! Be patient Dragons fans, keep the faith. Let's hope for better times down the track - in about two years time.

"The Executive Recruitment Team "......paleeese.....can you imagine Bennett, Bellamy, etc sitting back and leaving it to the ERT to tell them what cattle they will have in the future....that'll do me.

I really don't think a coach in only his second year at NRL level is in a position to demand as much control as Bennett or Bellamy expect.

How many players did Bennett sign for us for 2012? Your not going to leave it up to a coach that might not be there next year. Price will now have more input now that he has resigned.

Sadly I concur possum. I cannot recall any time in our club's history to rival our current ineptness at both management and coaching levels. Sure we have been some lean patches, but the current style of doing things is simply not the St George way.

I guess now that Price is going to continue muddling on for a while longer, our only solace is time. Hmmm time that I simply don't have. You know November 2010 would have been a good time to have passed on. The euphoria of a premiership and no Price. Makes a substantial case for a retrospective suicide. :D

I hope not... He won't snag anyone. He's not a good salesman at all.

If you read again what I said I didn't allude to the words demand or control I was simply trying to make the point that he is a first grade coach and as such he Should have a say in some of our future players.....some people say hes a bit shy and soft, well if hes going to command some respect then imo he shouldn't be making statements like I will leave it to the executive recruitment people and instead tell people well Im the coach now and I will have a say....................

I thought his statement regarding leaving the recruitment to others came after he knew he was staying another 2 years.....

Its a one extention with another year in the dragons favour so if we finish off this year not looking any better than we are now it still might be bye bye price. It would not hurt saints too much to pay out price for next year for the sake of the dragons having stability for this year.

Have to get used to Price being in charge if you don't like it that's just to bad and you think Doust and co are going anywhere you might as well go support some one else as they will be sticking around to.

The Dragons haven't changed in years pre-merger and after except for Bennet and even then the players that where brought in where cast offs and guys who where solid first graders at best.

You can keep harping on about a clean out from top to bottom but that's all you can do unless your on the board and move these guys out all you can do is support and lump it or follow another sport if you could never support another NRL team.

November 2010, pfft, then you would miss the 2011 WCC. Maybe March 2011.

A timely reminder there Kiama Saint. But even the loss to the Broncos in the 2011 finals would have been ok.

Thank God!

Now we won't have to put up with your constant whinging. And Old Timer is talking about ending himself.....things could be looking better for Dragon's fans around here soon.

I am so over you two.....
