PRIDE & PAIN

All our Roosters Players played so well, and I'm extremly proud to have watched what I consider one of the best games of SOO in many years.

Unfortunatley, if we have lost Justin Hodges then I am devestated. I also understand that Chris Flannery may have a shoulder injury. I guess we can only wait until we hear officially what the injury toll is.

As for us having Chris Walker to take up the slack, he'll no doubt be picked for SOO if the injuries we've sustained are long term.

Sorry, but I really am shattered.

I'm not really here. I'm at work. I don't take sickies to watch football matches.

Ricko - 44 tackles and comments made by the commentators that he doesn't get any recognition - and still no MOM. :(

Hodges - now that was a face of complete and utter devastation. If Walker gets called into the maroons SOO side I will spit tacks. :(

Fitzgibbon was out on his feet. Even after in the shed he was completely shattered. The blokes a freak. His shoulders all taped too - me thinks he's carrying a niggle. :(

Mini - I'm so pleased for the bloke. A little tentative to start with but with the first try he grew a leg. 2 tries on debut - you little beauty. \\:D/

Heggarty - solid. Felt sorry for him when he was deemed to have played at the ball and he didn't even touch it but the blues scored and, ultimately, I'm a blues supporter. Sorry Heggs.

Flannery - back row, centre, hooker. Mr versatile, Mr dependable. Hope the shoulders right by Sunday. :?

Wing - The next blues starting 5/8? Game changed when he came on. :)

An effort by all that fellow Rooster Boosters can be proud of. Now we just need to assess the toll of the carnage.

Hodges is reported to be out for the season. Who will play inside centre now..Flannery?? Hegarty?? Walker to Wing or grothe..geez it throws our side about a bit doesn't it.

I too was proud of the boys efforts - especially Rickertson. he was always there to clean up..Wing good and Fitzy - what do you say.

Michelklino certainly played well especially in open play. I agree with Hodges - bum decision but it happens.

6 - 9 months rehab if it is a cruciate ligament. Anterior more common than posterior. Unfortunately, the daughters partner is an orthopaedic surgeon so I have sat through his whole surgical and rehabilitation process in the last hour. Lucky me. :? Put Flannery into inside centre, leave Heggs where he is. Don't want to be shuffling the back line too much and I just can't stomach Walker getting a starting spot. Grothe may be an option after a few games coming off the bench.

It's hard...players deserve to represent but it sucks when they get injured as a result...possibly harming the club matches.

Ricko was a workhorse & Mini...although was very nervous at first must be stoked with his 2 tries. But keep Wingy off the bench. Although he is so deserving to start, how good is he off the bench...a huge impact!!

Can't wait til game 2....but please no more injuries to the roosters.

Yes thats exactly right pride & pain. Gee I am feeling both right now proud of all our debutants and sad for the injuries sustained by both the Hodgo and Flannery.

Honestly though the experience the guys gained last night is invaluable playing in front of the hostile 54,000 or so people. That can only assist them in the quest for another premiership, they were all superb last night under extreme pressue and nerves. I was just so happy for them all.

Mini was awesome, Wingy was everywhere, Ricko OMG does that guy ever get sick of tackling people? same for Fitzy

QLD well honestly if it wasnt for Hegarty, Tallis wouldnt have scored that try Hegarty did all the hard work. Flannery was there every time saving tries and pushing players over the side line Hodgo never really got his chance poor thing.

Oh well in the wash up I reckon we should all be extremely proud and now we have to worry about them also picking CROCKER!!! for QLD.

Oh the joys of having a Champion Team.

I'm heart broken.. :( I have never wanted to jinx Justin by outing myself, and declaring him my favourite player. There is so much to admire in him, as a person first, and a player second. Don't forget the Brett Finch chat tonight guys, perhaps 'Budgie' may be able to tell us how the team are feeling in general. This little brown duck won't be watching SOO. =;

And, I've decided that if I have to crawl 1000 miles over broken glass to be at Justins first grade game back after injury I will.

HoT I'll be there but I wont need to go to all that trouble :D

I no I still cant believe he is out for the year the pain the pain. Honestly I keep thinking he was fine yesterday. Oh well I suppose Justin must be feeling pretty sad about now I hope we can win this weekend.

I'd put Wingy in at 5/8 roostergirl. We had alot more options with him there than Timmins. Timmins played well and deserves a spot but with the problems of not having a specialist 5/8 available or playing well enough - Anasta would have been annihilated last night IMO - Wing should play 5/8.

Yes I agree with you BP I reckon Wingy should be the starting 5/8 also. Timmins did nothing really wrong but Wingy could do it a lot better. Anyway lets hope he gets a starting spot next match because he has so much more to offer and just wasnt out there long enough for me.

Anyway what do you think about Crocker getting called in BP do you reckon Bennett will call him up??

Geeze I knew there was a reason I liked you 8) . No one ever agrees with me.

All I can say about Crocker getting a call up is - I can see it it happening and I hope for the young bloke, he gets rewarded for his hard work. But, I want to be selfish and say 'LEAVE OUR ROOSTERS ALONE!!!!!!' With Hodges gooorn, Flanno out for a while & Fitzy looking a little lame, we can't afford to lose any more players. I want all Roosters to say "thankyou for the call up, I've played a game now and know I'm good but I'd rather play for my club." :D Ahhh, dreams are certainly free....
