Roosters cant/couldn't win without Fittler.
Knights cant/couldn't win without Johns.
Broncos cant/couldnt win without lockyer.
Pennys cant/couldnt win without Gower.

Sharks have been too reliant on Kimmorley over the last 2 years.
Now we have
Kimmorley
Kenty
Sully
Aitken
Bird
Gallen
& Dykesy next year

All with first grade experience.
All with a good cross section of skills, some with the lot.
At least 3 are match winners single handedly

Well done Sludge & Rapes.

We Shalt not suffer oneplayeritis

Definately look the goods in play makers. Through all their critacism, there is no doubt that both Bird and Aitken are well credentialled and young enough to turn into top shelf players, so will porvide excellent depth if one of Noddy or Dykes gets injured.

The other 3 give us great versatility, although I don't expect to see Gallen in the halves next year.

I do
If you have a look at Cronullas game plan ATM, you will see we have a very unique style for 5/8th.
It's like an open possie.
running our from the line from scrums, it will always be gallen at 5/8th
The other ednd will see 2 either side of the ruck.
its actually quite confusing with the interchangeability of the players & when they are all on the feild at the same time.
& that is a good thing too!

I think this has come about through necessity. With Dykes or either Bird or Aitken fulfilling their potential at 6, we will be a far better side. Having said that, point scoring hasn't been so much of a problem this year. But we will definately need a 5/8 when Peach eventually goes.

I hope Gallen stays away from 5/8 from scrums in attacking positions. I'd much rather sweeping backline movements when the backs have room to move.

Playmaker depth is good!
To many playmakers on the field at the one time is bad!

I think 3 is ideal at any one time.
A half on either side of the ruck and a good dummy half runner like Sullivan at hooker to get a roll on.
The rest of the side should be runners to take the money ball to the tryline.
Halves each have different traits and styles of passing that the rest of the team have to get used to. If you have too many playmakers or change them to many times you will get a disjointed attack. Look at Souths for example. Langmack was changing the half combination every week. Players didn't know what to expect and got no familiarity. Since Arthur Kittinas took over he's kept Joe Williams and Owen Craigie together and they have produced wins over Melbourne,Penrith and Manly and been far more competitive in some of the games they've lost.

Players have to know there role in the team but more importantly know their teamates role so they can work with them.
