Pro Evolution Soccer 5...hard

FIFA is absolute crap. It's like playing ping pong on ice. Pro Evo is so much better its almost insulting to compare the two. Yes FIFA has the licences and better career mode, but who cares when the gameplays crap? To say Pro Evo is an arcade game is a cop out, its a true simulation whereas FIFA is an arcade game. Anyone that has a decent knowledge of the game can see how much more realistic Pro Evo is. Most of my friends thought it was rubbish, till they actually played it. Now all of them play Pro Evo and haven't touched FIFA.

The level of tactical options available in Pro Evo is mind boggling compared to FIFA. Wait for Pro Evo to come out on box 360, it'll rock the kasbah!

pes5 is a brilliant game... the reason it is so hard is because of it's realism.

if you are struggling on 3 stars, try it on 5 or 6! i am a seasoned pro ev-er and i find it tough.

by the way, only chelsea and arsenal are licenced from the epl, so get on ebay and buy a new official memory card with the pes5 game data on it to make it licenced - it's fantastic. all the real stips including branding and sponsers, updated line-ups and realy formations. and you get a new memory card.

i got pes5 and gt4 game data on mine for $40... new official memory cards are still going for $50. bargin!

Yeh PES is a harder game to play, I have fifa and it is simple to learn, with PES it's frigin difficult because of it's realism.

I used to play FIFA, but ever since the game changed from the FIFA 2002 model of passing and gameplay, i haven't really enjoyed it much.

I haven't looked back from PES4 and now PES5

Its not the freekicks, but the ball matrix itself.

Most shots and freekicks always go straight, which is pretty lame. THey should address that though the ball shot matrix is improving

I played PES5 against my nephew the other day, he scored a goal from a direct free kick, curled it around the wall and everything. I think my exact words were: "How the f**king hell did you do that you little bastard!?!?!?!"

lol

hey

the reason why you find 3* so tough is because of the way the a.i is played

3* is actually easier than 6*... but its more defensive

so its harder to score in 3 whereas in 6 they are more open in the back... but you are more likely to let in goals against 6 star opponents... try it on 6 stars its the best way to play

oh btw fifa 06 is alrite... but once you try pro evo 5 you never go back

It's easy to curl the ball in PES5, it all depends on your positioning and the shot you take.

To curl a free kick in, pick the power (using up/down/square/X) according to distance and charge the height metre up to a tiny fraction above half.

With a right footer hold left on the d-pad to curl it left and vice verse for a left footer (hold as you charge the metre/as the player is running in.)

PS. You need a good free kick taker.

my mate is a free kick specialist in pes5.

he scores more often than not... it really pisses me off!

he gets massive amounts of curl, and both ways too!

i have just brought pro evo 5, but have'nt played it yet. can any plz tell me, that the goals that you score are different, meaning that theres more than one tatic to score a goal. most of the goals i scored in fifa 05 were repetitive.

if this game is hard to score, maybe you have to mix up your tatics a little more.

I'm a freak for PES5, as I was for PES4. I only got on the bandwagon after FIFA 04 odd, and at first I thought "This is crap". I'm glad I stuck at it though, because I was to realise just how complex the game is and how brilliant it is also. PES5 is a continuation of the same game, with enhanced graphics, some elimination of what were 'banker' goals which ruined FIFA and make it quite repetitive.. Also it has even more animations, making the game look remarkably fluid. The level of control and realism whilst still remaining enjoyable is fantastic... PES5 all the way, I play that and RL2 daily. Before that I played PES4 and RL1 daily :p

CURVE AND DIP isnt that hard

When going for a free kick

press square, as the power bar goes up, quickly press + hold right or left on the stick

stop the power at half way, or a smidgen above or below (depends on the players free kick ability)

once the ball is launched press and hold x (for dip), u still gotto be holding left or right on stick the whole time

u have approx 1-2 seconds to do all the above, and u will get free kicks in

also best to aim at the top corner where the keeper isnt - ie behind the wall, and curve it inwards towards the goal

kick should begin in line with upright, or outside, and slighty curve into the corner, and the dip will help get over the wall

its is purely prefect and sheer brilliance

PES5 can mother my children

I got the japanese version of PES5 which is "Winning Eleven 9".
I find it hard but its realism is great. Everything about the game play is great, except the japanese commentating is annoying me now cause I dont understand a word.
