Pros and Cons

I saw it like this:-

Pros:
1. Our forwards are fine. Tapau is really good. Gravat is also really good. Patterson looked ordinary however Sironen can just replace him in about 15 weeks or however long it takes.
2. Our outside backs will be fine. Simona and Nofo coming back will give us some more options. Richards and Koro went well.
3. Tedesco. I think he is our best player now. Simona might give him a run when he comes back but Tedesco is a gun.

Cons:-

1. Our most highly paid players are pretty ordinary. Blair and Robbie top the list. Blair doesn't screw us over though like Robbie does.
2. Woods to me is now a concern. I think he will still go well but he gave away penalties and I hope he doesn't fall into out once great players who are now ordinary.
3. Robbie. If he had punted on St George to win that game I wouldn't be surprised. He was terrible.
4. Brooks - this is tough but he didn't step up like he did last time and we really need him to be a gun.

Our forwards are not 'fine' when they can barely tackle, and only a few can dent the line. Otherwise I agree with all that, aside from Anasta not being listed as a 'con'.

Only because I expected him to be useless and just fill in there which he did. I would play Moses there because Anasta is not going to help out Brooks.

Anasta didn't screw us over ala Robbie.

Yeah I agree our forwards are not fine. They were dominated in most contests against one of the weakest teams in the comp.

The back row in particular was ineffectual.

Some of the new and young guys looked alright like Taupau but geez the forwards have a lot of improvement before they are competitive against the top teams

I don't get the Robbie hate either. Sure he makes mistakes and sometimes overplays his hand (probably as a habit of needing to over the last couple of years) but without him we would be a much worse team.

Please remind me what we all seen in Woods ? I see another f**king plodder good for giving away a million penalties and, offering sweet FA in denting the line( same as in SOO and the nines ) .. How much did we just fork out for this dud in the making ? I think our forwards have been so crap over the years we all wanked off when we found a guy who could carry a ball 10metres.... the fact he does it at walking pace seems to have eluded us :(

Really. I watch every tigers game and he has been killing us for years.

Woods has been great for us but he just signed a new contract and this is the concern. Have we paid overs for a one season wonder.

Koro can't play in defense, no idea.

Our line speed in defence is non existent. Why they don't move up is beyond me.

Woods plodded, Gavet was not really good. Taupau was easily best forward on ground in a tigers jumper

Richards kick offs are great but if no chases through on them, what's the point,

Farah needs to go home and look in the mirror. He is capable of so much better.

The hate is the fact he is our CAPTAIN and highest paid player yet he just seems to be out there for the ride , never see him taking charge of our constant capitulations , and to add to it he is usually the f**king cause of it !
Between him and Woods they gave away 6 f**king penalties ..more then a whole team combined should give away .

Completely disagree about Robbie. There is a difference between making mistakes, which every player does, and 'killing us'. He is about the last reason why we have Ben a failure the last few years and certainly not the reason we meekly surrendered in this game

Woods will be fine, reminds me of Skando, not the fastest but once he gets a few games under his belt his motor is impressive. Glad we locked him away. Paterson has hands like feet at the moment, can't wait to get Nofo and Simona and Galloway back next week. Taupau was good, Gavet has a go, but our defence is woeful...

Really. Have you watched any of our games. Today was a classic example - he single handedly got them back in the game via giving away penalties left, right and centre. Then his kicking game added to the effect - how good was the chip kick when we were on the attack to the fullback.

Seriously - he was terrible and he has done this for years. Yes he is a great player when he plays well. The problem is at critical times he decides that the best option is to give the other team a break.

Please aren't you the one who was defending Benji for the last couple of years whose performances were ten times worse than Robbie? So don't talk about watching games.

He is a current NSW and Aus rep so he is doing something right.

Sure he didn't have a great game but Jesus, he spent have the week in hospital. Which while it might be funny to laugh at since it was boils, it is still a massive effort to get on the field.

Please tell me you aren't suggesting Luani replaces Robbie because that is our only other option.

But seriously I understand him coping some criticism as he made some mistake and gave away some stupid penalties but I would still argue there were ten players worse than him today.

This is hilarious. For years its been Benji and Robbie stuffing us up. I think more so Robbie than Benji but who really cares. The point is they both stuff us up consistently.

He is a current NSW and Aus rep so he is doing something right.

He can be a great player but so can Benji. Consistency and stepping up when it counts is what matters,

Definitely not. I just think Robbie needs to start playing like a gun or we are screwed.

But seriously I understand him coping some criticism as he made some mistake and gave away some stupid penalties but I would still argue there were ten players worse than him today.

I think you are delusional here. He just gave away penalty after penalty and then backed it up with dud play after dud play. I think it was unacceptable however if you really think that is cool that is fine by me.

Koro needs to be in NSW cup next week, his defensive awareness is non-existent. Sure his dummy half runs are good, but he's just too much of a liability.

Agree with everyone about Woods, he looked slow and ordinary right from the start. I think Paterson will get better, he threw a couple of bad passes trying to get rid of it before the line, his strength has always been waiting til he's hit then offloading, I hope we see some of that soon.

Teddy had a strong game and looked the pick of the backs. Brooks started well but had a pretty mixed game, he'll get better too, just having him tackling non stop at training for the next month.

I'm pretty down though TBH, I really felt like this game was going to define our season and the defence wasn't pretty...

Please, you thought it was you and Benji against this forum and now that he is gone you will rag on Robbie every game.

Why didn't you quote the sentence on Robbie spending part of the week in the hospital? You quoted every other sentence. Oh is it because you couldn't twist it against Robbie.

Does Robbie need to play better if we are to have any chance this year? Hell yeah but that is going to be difficult with what is probably one of if not the worst forward packs in the comp and also one of if not the worst (despite Brooks's potential) halves combos in the comp
