Teammates Kieron Dyer and Lee Bowyer were sent off for fighting each other as Newcastle United ended with eight men on the pitch in a 3-0 home defeat by Aston Villa in the English Premier League on Saturday.

Dyer and Bowyer were dismissed by referee Barry Knight after 82 minutes just after Aston Villa went 3-0 up with a second Gareth Barry penalty in seven minutes to end Newcastle's 12-match unbeaten run

Disgraceful.

As a Toon fan, I am still shaking my head.

There is serious problems at that club. I thought everything was meant to be rosy when Bellamy left?

From what I've heard the players have no respect for Sounness there. ALso, apparently this bust up between Dyer and Bowyer has been building for a while.

This is what happens when you replace a midfield of skillfull, hard working professionals like Speed and Solano with over-rated young hooligans who think they're the shit like Bowyer and Dyer.

I've heard if your on Souness' good side he is as loyal as they come.
If your not I'd be looking for the exit door.
One or both of these guys would be looking at the exit door for sure.

Yeah, the sending off offence violent conduct can be performed against anyone, not just neccesarily someone from the other team.

Bowyer proves again that he is a thug. I thought his sportsmanship and all round discipline was starting to pick up how wrong I was.

The thing I find funniest about the whole thing is Lee Bowyer fights like a deadset drunken sheila!

Fortunately for Dyer...he seemingly couldn't punch his way out of a soap bubble!

well when graeme souness is in charge you all gotta have a biff some time or another. as john nicholson said:

I have seen Souness scythe people down with sheer malevolence. Stamping, kicking and elbowing was how he got the job done. He was magnificent. If you never saw him in his glory years you missed out big time, as big miss as never seeing Zeppelin live.
