Punk is still going strong.

Saw Lumpy and the Dumpers twice a few months ago, they're fun.

Ausmuteants are a great Melbourne punk band with a lot of Devo influence.

quite like the Henry Rollins years, have you listened to his spoken word stuff? He's a pretty intelligent man

Undoubtedly an age thing but I hardly like anything before Bad Religion - Suffer. That album changed everything.

Do love Rollins spoken word stuff though

I'm definitely mainly an epitaph/fat wreck guy. However, that was the era that I grew up in.

see I'm from the, I don't know how to explain it but punk that isn't really punk era (green day, sum 41, blink 182) and absoluted hated American hardcore when I was younger but have really grew into it and consider the likes of TSOL, Adolescents, Agent Orange, Fugazi and all those kind of groups my favourite bands

Just don't go see his shows live. Damn, the bloke spoke for 3hrs straight. It was fun at first, then I felt it was punishment.

Saw him in Brisbane a few weeks ago at The Tivoli, it was alright but it was all very preachy.

not to say I didn't agree with what he was saying, it was just kinda... i dunno how many people paid to be told how to think for 2hrs and 15mins (I had a free ticket so I went with a friend).

I think the best thing he said in that entire rant was that ... dont be afraid to get excited about something, you see all these people that play down getting excited about things like they're too cool or they've seen it all before - those people are already dead. don't be like that.

i thought it was actually a pretty good message, free of political/spiritual/cultural ideologies

I'm far more into metal than punk but Dead Kennedys Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables is one of my favourite all time albums.
