Napa suspended for 2 weeks. Napa, Friend and Guerra out. Roosters are at their most vulnerable. Still we are $4.10 to win this game.

Penrith with an 11.5 point start. I'm liking that as well as the $4.10 odds for the win. Might see what how much cash is in that ashtray of mine

Jake Friend trained with the roosters today. Lets hope he needs another week to get over the injury.

Isn't it funny. Who would have thought 12 months ago, that in the first week of the finals against the Roosters, we are joking that we are paying $4+ for the win and genuinely think that we can beat them.

Gus and Ivan have done a terrific job in rebuilding this club into the Rugby League force that it should be.

I think the odds are fair. We didn't get anywhere near Souths and the Roosters when we played them this season, and we even lost to Manly who are a basket case at the moment. We haven't really turned up against the top teams yet (lost to the Storm twice, as well), so lets hope that this changes this weekend.

I'm not going to complain if it does happen. Look at DWZ game against Manly. You don't want that needless stuff happening in finals. Im fine with whoever Ivan goes with on this.

I wanted DWZ and co to get a few games. He has done that now's the time to go with the safe Simmons the problem is his lack of gametime a toss of the coin job for me

So happy we secured the top four spot which means I will get to see at least one more game this season. Have been in UK for past four weeks but following the boys obviously and it is hard to believe how good this season has been. The courage of our squad particularly given the injury issues which have beset us over past six to eight weeks. The fact we have continued to be competitive is nothing short of amazing. Back in OZ on Thursday the 18th Sept so looking to seeing the boys still alive in the comp.

I hope we stick with DWZ and not Simmons. DWZ has been outstanding for us of late and deserves to keep his spot and get some finals experience.

I've got a good feeling about this game. I think we're in with a real chance.

Is Grant injured or did he just make way for the returning guys?

I hope the coach is showing the side a video of the last finals victory by the club, 10 years ago today. The Dragons might have scored 30 but it was a truly legendary second half defensive performance by a damaged team playing an extremely dangerous opponent.

i think we need to go in with a no pressure, high risk game IMO.

we're not expected to win this game and we cant get knocked out if we lose.

play DWZ over Simmons, he's the xfactor while simmons is solid but no game time will hurt Simmons.

Safe is not going to beat the Roosters. I mean, if we truly want to play it safe, we would play a second string side, ensure no injuries to key players, and then look forward to the relatively easier task of knocking over either the Cowboys or Broncos the following week.

No-one wants us to do that; we all want our team to give it a good go. Bringing back Simmons with no match fitness would reek of conservatism.

Both fully fit, I'd go Simmons. Given Simmons has been out for 6 weeks and DWZ has been improving every game, I think you'd surely have to go with DWZ.

Seriously wingers are the easiest to replace. I would rather Simmons on our line defending bombs then DWZ ATM. It's not like DWZ is creating tries with chip and chases or great footwork. He's doing what Simmons could do in the situation.

DWZ has now 8 games. 6 tries whether he plays finals or not it's a great place to build from

Soward vs Cowboys was the result of DWZ footwork, as an example. And how did DWZ look under the high ball vs the Warriors?

Anyway, I just disagree. A settled DWZ >> a lacking match fitness Simmons. As mentioned above, if they were both fit, it would be a tougher call, but it is a no brainer at the moment.

How DWZ v Manly, Roosters, Souths and Melb? Average so I can understand if he's not there. I think he will play but Simmons has to be an option

He got a farewell run at Penrith which is a lot more than anyone would have expected a month ago.
