Anyone who thinks that is a weak side should just have a glance at the players in key positions - 1/7/9.

Then compare it to what nsw announces.

Yeah look that's fair. I would've went Norman but with his injury its between Morgan and Milf.

Glad norman wasn't available. Norman in an Origin game...yuck! I just don't rate him as an Origin level player. Milford is a gamble but alongside Cronk, Smith and Boyd it can work.

Be interesting to see how Milford will go at five eighth. He has been down on form for the Broncos and hasn't showed any glimpses of 2015 for a while.

Wondering if he will get Shane Warne'd as well.

Huh? His form has been very good this season. And he scored more points last year than 2015. All academic anyway as we all know Thurston will be there next Wednesday night...

I would've had him in my side too. Wallace too ahead of Lillyman.

I think the logic would be, there's too much missing with Scott, Parker and potentially Myles as is. Another rookie could be too much.

Think Wallace was closer. can see why they went with Lillyman though and eventually hess will replace Guerra. I'm worried about Guerra's form the most.

Average side, weak bench and front row. O'neil is about as average a player you could find. Should have had Slater and Holmes in there, Boyd & gagai centres, holmes & oates wing & Slater FB. You find room for your best players. Reckon NSW will gain some confidence looking at the Qld team sheet, certainly wont worry them.

Milford isn't up to this level, but it's ridiculous they could name him in starting side, prevent him from playing for the Broncos on Saturday, and then tap him on the shoulder an hour out from kick off because they have decided JT is fit enough. All because qld is too gutless to make a call.

Yeah, you're probably right Grimesy. We'll be hearing about the 'will he or won't he' for the next week before he miraculously comes good.

It is definitely the least scariest side QLD has named in some time. If JT ends up playing then changes everything.

From a Blues POV I am happy to see Myles in the side, he has never failed but his best is well and truly behind him.

Boyd was that good in the centres that Joel Moon was preferred to play centre at Brisbane to him...yes Joel "who on earth is that" Moon! What has Boyd done wrong to not get the fullback spot? He's the Australian fullback. I would have had Holmes in for Gagai but Gagai has always performed and they probably don't want the whole side of rookies. That is probably why Lillyman, Myles and Guerra were picked over others too.

Boyd is the Australian fullback and he's in extremely good form too. Plus it is better to not leave Gagai or Oates out. Boyd or Slater are both fullbacks, Boyd hasn't done anything wrong to lose that position.
What has Slater done wrong to lose it then?

He's the greatest FB of all time and the in form fullback of the comp too.

I don't think its a case of 'what has Boyd done wrong' but more a case of fitting Slater into the side anyway you can. And the easiest way to do that is to shift Boyd to the wing. But in saying that Slater could easily play on the wing.

I wasn't bagging Boyd, but he is more versatile than slater if you want to fit all that class in. Holmes & Slater are special players, O'neil & Chambers aren't.

I would have picked slater.

It isnt as strong a side as QLD have had in the past, but NSW problem remains in our halves especially if we are going down the Mitchell Pearce route.

Milford could go either way, if they let him pick and choose his moments and go to him when they have momentum they could kill it. If they go hard on the structure and expect him to be JT he could really go missing.

his kicking game is very poor, puts a lot of pressure on Cronk & Smith.

It's been 3+ years since Slater was there. Boyd's form this year was just as good as Slater's, and he will suit Milford's game the most if JT is out.

If you want Slater in the side pick him on the wing- but then I'd disagree. There are 3 wingers at least ahead of him. As it is we have omitted Holmes!
