Bench looks a bit light. I know Meninga plans to use Parker, Thaiday and Myles as props at various stages but out of them only Myles makes good meters in the middle.
The QLD middle rotation will definitely consist of:
Scott
Shillington
Myles
Parker
The blokes above play in the middle at their clubs and for QLD (whenever he's selected in Parker's case)
Harrison has started on the left for QLD in recent years with the big boppa middle rotation of mainly of Petero - Scott - Hannant - Shillington - Myles rolling through the centre, but he has shifted tighter when Myles has had a spell on the bench. Ashley does play in the middle for GC so he can easily handle it.
Thaiday has been a right edge forward for the bulk of his career. The Lockyer - Thaiday - Hodges combo had been a mainstay for Brisbane & QLD for years. Since Petero left Brisbane, he's shifted into the prop. He looks busy but is ineffective in this position as a battering ram IMO. Still, I'm assuming he'll make up the 6 man rotation as the other guys in the squad - T'eo, McQueen, Gillett are playing as edge forwards.
I wouldn't at all be surprised to see the QLD forward pack take the field in this formation:
AH - Smith
PF - Scott
PF - Myles
MF - Parker
RF - T'eo
LF - Harrison
IP - Shillington
IP - Thaiday
IF - Parker
IF - McQueen
To be honest, Hannant can't come back soon enough. That way, Thaiday can go back on the right and they'll at least get a resemblance of that dominating middle core back.
