I thought Zeb was a player of some promise even if he struggled in the few games he played after his debut. In yesterdays game I believe he gained more metres than any other forward at around 170m. By releasing him early we have given an advantage to our opposition. I can understand the decision from a compassionate point of view but I find it strange it was done considering what the coach wrote earlier in the year especially since we aren't gaining any advantage.

I don't think we could ever get the best out of a player who doesn't want to be here and if that's the case, than why hold back the likes of lewis or Williams and continue to pay Taia and keep him in your books under duress?

Why waste time and resources developing a junior for an opposing team, get rid of him now and put the time and money into a junior who will be here next year.

because...

there is no use keeping players who want to walk....

and letting go of players like Lett and Taia gives Parra some extra space in the salary cap for the rest of the year to pay to other players who can be brought up a grade...

i really think lame arse efforts like tonight mean we should think seriously about our recruitment policy.

we really need to bring in one or two hard heads, even just for depths sake. next year will be basically the third year where the core of the squad is the same. a couple of new faces, just to freshen things up....it's all well and good bring guys up, but I think we really need to be looking at adding to our leaders as well, because quite frankly, on far to many occasions, on field leadership is completely absent
