bit of a sore point that yr is it? ;-)

yeah it is a year that will eat away at many bulldogs fans for many years to come. but why are we discussing an incident from season 2002. if we talk about this we may as well also discuss the night Shayne Hayne and the Eels beat the sharks 74-4. or the night the Dragons got flogged in a ridiculous penalty count and had a player sent off for supposedly kicking when replays clearly showed nothing in it. Its not even as though this was a major incident in the game because after we never heard anything about it and it doesn't eat into anyone because easts were always going to win on the night

Everyone thinks it was 8-6 at the time of the clash but I watched the replay recently (You have to when you're having a season like ours) and we were actually up 12-8. The 40-20 and the Wing try happened a few minutes earlier but this is seen forever as the turning point.

Did you see Toopi's attempt to tackle Wing? Where he literally pulled his arm away and let Wing run through? lmao.

That was my "turning point" btw. The 40/20 wouldn't have mattered except for that pathetic attempted tackle. I don't even remember the Morley hit.

it was the most blatant headbutt ive ever seen. villa only had eyes for fittlers head.

im amazed some people think it was an accident. it was as accidental as ryan cross' gouge.

Cusack smashed Vilisanti about ten minutes later and he coughed up the ball. We scored the next set.

I miss the Yak.

Morley "run at someone your own size gorilla, ill turn you into a winga" and bang!
haha GO MOZ
Actually Morleys comments were "Run at me you C$#%s"

Great video. tbh it's exactly how I remembered it. I still think that Koopu tackle was dodgy, he went up for the charge down but then continued on and deliberately shouldered Fittler in the head. I think that impact definitely dazed Fittler.

I can't believe the likes of Mr Tommy Smith still think the headbutt was deliberate, watch it at normal speed, his eyes light up and he goes in to smash Fittler. To think he would've deliberately delivered a flying headbutt in full view of everyone is absurd imo.

Also, the Morley tackle was hardly anything to write home about and was hardly a turning point......

Deadset, you're kidding.

Given Harrigan was standing over the top of it, given the video ref had time to act on it, given the touch judges had as good a view as you or I at Telstra and given the judiciary could find no intent with it, where do you get that from?

Cross got 6 weeks didn't he - Villasanti didn't even cop a charge.

Watch the replay from behind Fittler and you can see Villa's eyes are focused on getting to the loose ball until a split second before he makes the tackle.

Very true. At no point is Villasanti looking at Fittler! Always trying to get the ball on the deck! Very clear cut.

Well there must to 2 versions of the game, because I have it too, and stick with my original comment.

I've always believed Vili is looking straight at Fittler's face the whole time. I will watch the video and see if my opinion changes.

I hated his guts for it and thought he should have got 15 weeks.

Then he chose to play for Australia and I reasoned that it wasnt so bad after all. :D
