Saw the crash...looked like it was pretty quick. Edwards bike just slammed him and ripped his helmet off.Ugly.
R.I.P Marco Simmonchelli.

Oh my goodness me, that poor boy, he had a great future in MotoGP, very sad to see him go. RIP Marco Simoncelli.

Can't bring myself to look at any footage. RIP Marco.
Ive seen it probably to many times now and from many angles. On one you see Edwards just start to glance and move in Marco's direction and then he just turns his back and sits in the grass. He knew.Official verson was he was still alive on the track and went into cardiac arrest in the ambo.At the clinicle mobile they were able to clear blood from his thorax and briefly there was hope. Massive head, kneck and chest trauma.Feel bad for Edwards but there was nothing he could do.:(

Apparently he could of lived if he had a properly fitted helmet, he refused to have one because he didn't want to cut his hair.

This is pure gossip sorry mate. There are VERY strict rules regarding the wearing of helmets and he has passed every one of them....same as valentino did when he had the ''same'' hair. At this stage it appears the chin strap broke and the rule makers doubt anything can be done against such a catostrophic impact with the angles, speed etc involved.
I will hopefully speak tonight with a mate who's a motogp rider...its not Stoner...and pass on anything i can.Ive spoken with two of my mates team members and they say it wasnt pretty.:?

it was the impact of Edward's bike which pushed the helmet off from what I could tell

he virtually rode over his neck and it pushed the helmet off, not much could be done about it

It was a terrible incident the videos Ive watched it looks like Colin Edwards hits him in the back at first and Marco's helmet is taken of by the impact with Rossi...

The kid was great to watch R.I.P
