Late mail >
St George Illawarra have lost centre Beau Scott (ankle) with Nathan Brown yet to name a replacement - Keith Lulia is a likely replacement. Jason Ryles is a "rough chance" of being a late inclusion according to Brown. He had a fitness test this morning. Wicks has dropped off the five man bench - allowing Thorby to become Saints' 11th debutant in 2007.
Brisbane's Sam Thaiday drops off their 5 man bench due to his eye injury - not because he can't play, but because he's not permitted to fly.

Sam Thaiday is definatly out for the Broncos, so there won't be any last minute replacements.

the only thing that will fall asleep after 23 minutes is the Dragon's defence :D

You see thats where you are wrong.

You need Defence in the first place for it to fall asleep.

Broncos to show no mercy

Karl de Kroo and Steve Ricketts
June 01, 2007
BRISBANE coach Wayne Bennett has implored his team to maintain the ruthless mindset it displayed against Newcastle by showing no pity for the injury-ravaged St George Illawarra in Sydney tonight.
Bennett said his team was in no position to take anyone lightly - even a Dragons side missing seven established stars and blooding a halfback, former Rooster Jamie Soward, four days after he met his new teammates for the first time.
"If you look at our performances this year you'll see that after every game we've won we've lost the next one, so obviously it's an issue for us," Bennett said.
"Consistency is the core of our problem - we win a game and slip back into the comfort zone.
"We can't forget where we are. We might look good on paper but we haven't been doing a lot.
"That's our challenge tomorrow night and it doesn't matter who we're playing.
"We have to get a little bit of consistency into our work to convince me we're moving on and not living in the past. Our priority has to be to back up what we did last week."
Bennett's rallying message to maintain the rage will do nothing to allay fears in the Dragons camp that they may become cannon-fodder for a resurgent defending premier.
"I'm not sure it's the best time to be playing them," veteran hooker Simon Woolford conceded last night.
"We are in a very difficult predicament at the moment. In 13 years of first grade I don't think I have ever seen a club with the injuries to key players that we have.
"But in saying that the mood at training has been really positive this week.
"The young blokes are getting an opportunity and they are very keen to make the most of it.
"We got a very good insight last week into what the Broncos are capable of if you allow them to get on a roll and we are very committed to ensure we don't let that happen to us."
With each loss the pressure is mounting on Dragons coach Nathan Brown, but he found a supporter in Bennett yesterday.
"Everybody is too quick to find fault," Bennett said.
"He's got a football team with a lot of injuries right now and it wouldn't matter who was coaching his team, they would be having a tough time.
"You can't have the amount of injuries he's got to key players and expect you're going to out-perform teams that are injury free.
"It can't happen that way and it doesn't happen that way. You need players who are healthy to get the job done for you. They've taken a lot of hits this year. I wouldn't be writing him off."
Woolford said Soward, who was released by the Roosters on Monday, had made a good fist of fitting into the Dragons set-up.
"He seems a good young kid, but we can't expect him to come in and be our saviour," Woolford said.

Why do I get the feeling that this game is a REAL danger game! Soward at halfback is a big positive as he has a fantastic kicking game and is a lethal goalkicker!

Soward is good, but i aint expecting too much

Put it this way I am 100 times more nervous now that Soward is at halfback, than when Head was at halfback. Soward is very dangerous and his kicking game is damn good. Anyone expecting a thrashing is just stupid.
