Stick solid DD, thick and thin mate. We’re all in this mess togetherOK. We were very bad but the Dolphins were obviously very good. So their very good was much better which to me makes me think that Kristian Woolf is a great coach learning much from Wayne Bennett. His assistants who are his brother Ben and Nathan Fien have been good to date. Both ex Dragons - coach and player.
So while we played badly, we did come up against a club that will be heading towards a top 8 spot in my opinion. They did give the Dogs a hiding so that would indicate that they have the players who can score points and defend them against the top side in the comp to date.
Young kids love the drugs these days. Thought that would be the way to entice them.Hinderance for sure.
If you're a young player, why would you go play for a team whereby the head coach was done for a drug scandal when you were 10?
Love a good shuffle of chairs on the Titanic, why not!Gutho to 7 , Holmes to Fullback , Allan To centre if not injured ....... Something needs to change .......
Yes redv13 we are indeed in this mess together. Getting beaten is not a good thing but we were not only beaten, we were thrashed which makes it worse obviously.Stick solid DD, thick and thin mate. We’re all in this mess together
A club with hunger vs a club with none. The dogs are on top of the table, but they still go out and get a top halfback halfway through the season
meanwhile at the dragons

What do RFM, Guler, Klemmer, Cook, Ilias, Gutherson, Holmes have in common?
They all were not wanted by their previous clubs which meant that they were not too good for those other clubs and those clubs knew that they could do better with others which I feel they have.
We had high hopes of at least two of them being very good to help the club win more games. They have to a certain extent but really not that convincingly. Holmes has let us down a few games and his knock on the minute after he kicked the penalty, started the rot. That penalty kick showed that we were desperate to lead and I think we should have gone on the attack. In any case no matter what went on at the start had no real bearing on the outcome of the game as the Dolphins proved that they were just way too good for the Dragons on the day at Suncorp.
Whatever happens from now on, it is to see who should be in first grade for next year and have fun playing for the balance of the year.
Pretty sure the scum had 5 players unavailable through origin as well.Yeah that's right we're sitting top of the ladder with the dogs, so let's pretend this 50 point loss tonight didn't happen and start again.
Gee you come up with some absolute tripe.
Stop accepting the mediocre BS pal.
Are you planning a longer post for the coach?Crashing back down to reality.. we've played crap football all year.. we are not a good team at all. I don't know how some have seen that we are. To me, it's blind optimism and hope that we can become something better. We have been so shit all year and managed to scrap some wins together.
Our roster is so clogged full of shit it's not funny. We need better, yet some of these players who aren't close to good enough get talked up like they're going to amount to anything. Taking an actual look into the reality of our top squad's situation.
Backs:
CT (not good enough just because he takes some strong carries), Gutho (a bit above solid, good leader, has some class, worth having around but not elite), Corey Allan (if he's your 30th spot it's not the end of the world), Kyle Flanagan (worst half in the comp by a long, long way, indefensibly bad yet Dragons fans are the only fans in the comp who seem TO defend him.. move on, he's horrendous), Ilias (terrible, terrible half), Lykhan (young kid, who knows, not currently setting the world alight), Feagai (I like him, but time to move him on, not good enough), Suli (sometimes good, sometimes shit.. in reality probably not quite good enough), Lawson (unknown but definitely not as exciting as other converts in the comp), Finau (talented, some defensive issues but this could be solved.. will probably be gone), Sloan (cut the cord, he's shit, genuinely scared of contact), Holmes (our best back, but still hurting us every single week with an error coming out of yardage.)
Forwards:
Lawrie (worst prop in the comp, absolutely laughable player), Cook (heavily overrated, quite poor), Klemmer (meh), Egan (thank god he's around, but injured), Guler (meh), Latu (most talented young lock in the country.. leaving), Sele (good player, never on the field though.. maybe gets a chance soon?), Stewart (works hard, good tackle technique, not sure he'll be anything a little better than solid though), JDB (goes good some weeks, other weeks just okay, never really bad, but doesn't set the world on fire), Liddle (good impact hooker), Su'a (our best forward, but is in and out of origin i.e. not top shelf in the comp, can be rocks and diamonds), Loko (big talent), Luch (needs to go, can't keep himself fit/motivated), M Molo (hopeless, will be leaving), RFM (not first grade standard), R Couchman (shame about his injury, could and should be very good), T Couchman (so consistent, very good player), Fifita (professional sportsman who can run for 5-10 mins and is done for the day)
It's a long way back looking at that.. but if we're serious or trying to get serious then we need to stop putting the rose coloured glasses on with these players who do something good ocassionally, and then seemingly get a free pass for 3-5 years before everyone comes to the conclusion they're shit. If they aren't good enough, the club needs to stop glorifying them and move them on. There is around 33% of that current roster probably worth keeping, but we'll be stuck with the other 67% for a lot longer than we should be and if/when we do replace those ones.. it'll probably be more shit
Are you saying we need to recruit Bennett to coach Flano?OK.

You nailed it with this assessment. We've been saying much the same for countless years now. This game has completely blown the season out of the water. Whatever small improvements we've had so far this season have just been undone. Yes some injuries have cruelled us, but it feels like 1 step forward, 2 steps back every year for over a decade. Whenever something good happens, the harsh reality check comes shortly after. The club we love is just a feeder to the good clubs. Our club can nurture juniors and then watch them go better for other clubs while we bring in plodders on overs. Our brand of rugby league is a punish to watch. It's no wonder we only get 11k to home games and opposition fans give us shit about our crowds. The club is dying a slow, painful death and as expansion is coming it will fall even further behind the pack.
Something has to change.
Enough is enough.
No more.
Our entire football operation needs a complete overhaul.
