Stone in the press conference said Roberts had a really good game tonight and showed he is a NRL quality half.

The bloke has no idea.

I do get the impression that the coach has just given up on 2015, he just wants to get to the end and start again. He looks a beaten man in the pressers.

Well he should step down as he is looking very very foolish with his comments.

Result aside I actually enjoyed watching that one. I thought there were some positives and the real negatives won't be an issue next year. I guess I'm just watching from a 'next year' point of view these days.

Gagai was pretty bad and really needs to find the balance between playing for himself and setting up his winger. Hogs the ball too often.
Gidley was incredibly bad, but that is just what we will need to wear for the rest of the year. Playing him will win us the spoon though. Roberts was still just making up numbers really. Randall is OK but I think 3rd choice is about where he needs to be long term.

Tapine was good again and seeing Korbin cause havok out wider gives real fuel for thought next year. Vaivai looked a real first grader and a handful, great offloads. All up our pack is shaping up pretty well for next year if you ask me.

Aku looked great, sione busted some tackles and Jimmy was solid enough. What I really liked was Mullen playing what was in front of him in the second half and forgetting the plan. It gives hope that next year hokko can do the structured stuff and let Mullen play his game.

We looked 10x better when Mullen got involved and lost every bit of momentum when Roberts took the last tackle options or Gidley f**ked up.

Mullen certainly wasn't the issue. The issue was bringing Roberts back and then going one step worse and moving Gidley to fullback as well and getting rid of Mamo.

We're trying to get someone to take him off our hands. You're not gonna come out in the media and say he's shit. They all know it. Hence why Hodkinson was signed.

so if he does sign with someone else
does that mean we can drop him for the rest of the season?
no need to 'display our wares' so to speak

Gidley needs to be dropped after that performance.
Shocking in defence, especially with Mamo playing so well it should be considered tanking if we play him at 1 next week.
Defense is the biggest issue at the moment, attack is clunky but conceeding 35+ points every week just makes the game unwinnable.

Hopefully, but it hasn't worked like that for gids unfortunately. Less legacy obligation or pressure for stone though I guess

I was impressed with that.Mullen has the ability to read the plays and we haven't seen it for a while.

The plan should be to prepare for it.

Mate - he wants Roberts off his salary cap next year. What else is he going to say?

If we want to offload him we are going to pay some of his salary next year at his next club which will come under our salary cap in 2016. What we need to do is minimise the amount that we will have to pay.

It is about supply and demand.

If we keep him in first grade and say what a good footballer he is we are only ever going to get 1 club interested with low offer.

If we say what everyone sees and state he is struggling and actually drop him to reserves and tell him he doesn't feature in our plans for 2016 and will be in reserve grade in 2016, there are likely to be more clubs circulating to gain his services including clubs who don't necessarily have a spot for him in 1st grade but would make a bid for him anyway for depth.

The more clubs interested the higher the price he is likely to get resulting in a lower amount we would need to pay Roberts in 2016.

If we provide the environment where we can increase demand, the higher the price for him, the less amount we will pay.

Economics at its best.

Notwithstanding this, it will finally put the whole squad on notice that the club means business about the current unacceptable performance.

Let me get this straight, you are saying that dropping Tyrone to NSW cup will increase his demand from other clubs as well as influencing a higher value for him from those clubs?

What are you smoking?

It is about getting more clubs interested in taking him off our hands. If he stays in 1st grade there will be lucky to one club interested in his services and they will offer jack sh!t knowing the knights will need to top up his 2016 contract. You make the player not wanted and stuck in reserve grade, the more clubs will become interested offering an opportunity and hoping to get a bargain deal. However the more clubs interested the higher the price.

Yes Hodkinson is a case in point although in slightly different circumstances where the Dogs offered him jack sh!t for next year and forcing him out with us and the Titans upping his price to get his services. If it was only us who were keen we would have got him at a lower price.

It is about creating the situation where we can increase demand for his services from other clubs and telling him he is not in our plans for 2016 is the best way to force him out and get interest from other clubs.

Either way given his wages we will be chipping in a large chunk of coin for him to play elsewhere. Other than the Titans or the ESL there isn't a market. The best hope we have is for outside of that is for someone to have a need for Tyrone as an injury replacement.

Thats right.

I think a few clubs would bid for his services for depth/injury replacement.

What Doing, I think you need a glass of water and a lie down. You clearly copped a head knock somewhere before writing that
