still listening to Triple M and theyre are talking about the penalties......sounds like the refs blew a few that were not needed. Also sounds like we didnt have much ball and still were right in the game

He's not a hooker? Mate, he's not even a footballer. He's got absolutely nothing. Does way more harm than good when out there

Credit where credit is due, he carried us for a number of years and would good enough to be one of the first picked for NSW.

That said, he is a problem now and Bennett will know that, I'm just not sure that he knows quite how to resolve the issue.

The refs did us no favours (we also did ourselves no favours) - but we STILL could have won the match.

Sure, he was good for us at fullback in his prime for a few years... but he was already going off the boil by the time Wayne got here... then fast forward another 2 years of injuries and playing little football and the bloke is dead set diabolical.

Yeah it's not that I think taking the 2 is always a bad option, we just seem to do it at dumb times. Up by four not six, early in the game against a team like Storm where opportunities will be hard to come by, and we take a penalty goal? I mean there are plenty of examples of when we should take them, but I can't possibly fathom how that was one of them.

tbh I thought Storm taking one was f**king stupid too. We were completely on the ropes with that horrid start.

On the penalties, man, how many dumb ones did we give away? Tackling people off the ball, working the face, herpa derp, etc. On the refereeing, that Uate being held call was dogs balls. Complete rubbish.

There were definitely some positives though... first and foremost being Clydesdale. Gidley and Waddell need to have a collision at training or something, I wouldn't put it past them.

We still can't buy a 50/50 call from the refs, particularly the ones that matter ie. non-strip call for the Waqa try. Absolutely ravaged by penalties, don't think Melbourne got a try without the benefit of one. Pretty much the story of the game, couldn't build any pressure on Melbourne considering the amount of piggybacks they got out of their own end.

Lot of positives anyway. We held our own despite the fact we could have easily folded, and most of our forwards ran with vigour and constantly made yards. Backs looked sharp and Dobson and particularly Roberts had some classy touches.

Can't say I'll be too disappointed to see Boyd take back his spot, maybe harsh but Minto has been fairly average it must be said. With him and Mullen to return, might sound stupid at 0-3 but I don't think we're looking too bad.

Hope McKinnon is ok.

Well, I think we can call the Minto experiment a big fat failure, he's sh*thouse and it was plain to see last week that he wasn't up to NRL standard. Speared for next week.

Uate was exposed as the fundamentally broken player he is once again, the 2 tries he got could have been scored by Josh Perry and done nothing to redeem him. Speared until he learns how to play footy.

If Gidley doesn't play FB he sadly gets the spear treatment too, what was with all the penalties ffs? Even without these problem players, our goal line defence is weak and our second phase game doesn't exist.

Hopefully Boyd's back this week and fingers crossed Mullo aswell but if not Mamo in for Uate and Gids to FB and Minto out. We know Gids won't get dropped so he has to play somewhere so the further away from DH the better. That way he's shoved up the back away from the defence and where his best footy has been played. He can't be worse than Minto, he really has been crap.

It was a bit strange the way fox sports reported on McKinnon. It was like they had an idea but it was too bad to tell us?

Radio call said the McKinnon was able to move his legs and hands. I have no idea medically, but that he can move must be a massive positive ?

Some players not mentioned.

Really taking a liking to Dobbo. His passing is fantastic and has 3 or 4 try assists this year.

Not sure what is wrong with Jimmy Mac but he has gone missing all year.

Minto is a half back and doesn't have the pace for a fullback. Mamo is a must if Boyd is not ready.

We really lack punch in the forwards with no forward showing any signs of consistently bending the line. Not sure what Sims has done wrong

Finally Clysdale showed his class and should take over as no. 1 hooker if Bennett has the balls.

yeah, the way andy raymond spoke sounded ominous

at least we played some footy tonight for a change. whats the bet we try to bore the sharks to death next week and lose a close one though?

if bennett says he doesn't tell them to take the two he's lying. hickmans broke the sound barrier sprinting on to tell them.

gidley. can we just f**king not. urgh.

I don't think Uate will get dropped. Gids has to be a chance to be dropped to the bench at least. Minto will get dropped for Boyd - and thank god. Let's pray Mullen is right and replaces Dobson. Not that Dobson has been shocking, but Mullo is Mullo and we need him out there. I think Tyrone has been really good and doesn't deserve to lose his partnership with Mullen at this point... although you might be able to make a case for Dobson, I guess.

flip a coin between the halves, they've both had some neat touches. i'd take dobson because i think his skills compliment mullen better and he seems like a real leader on the field.

roberts will probably keep his spot though, bennett is a pretty loyal sort of coach. uate and gids will both be in the starting 13 for that reason too,

Can I just say that until the day we catch a break with the refs, we will struggle to win any games, let alone down in Melbourne.

It becomes a vicious cycle, we lose a penalty count, get pinged for 50/50 penalties and then it becomes an issue that refs then go looking for.

Refs seem to believe that the Knights are ill disciplined and therefore they look to confirm that bias by blowing a heap of penalties many of which are questionable insofar as both teams are doing the same thing.

Dobson has been good in attack but bloody hell he has let us down in defence, there is simply no hiding that in the modern game. Its f**king so Dureau like it scares me. The sooner Mullo gets out on that right edge the better.

The only other word that needs to be said is discipline. Wayne needs to fine anyone $1000 if they give away a penalty. That shit needs to be curbed big time

complaining about the refs is such a waste of time. btw, the roosters got murdered by the refs last year and they seemed to go OK

steve mascord has said "Alex MCKinnon was moving his arms when he left here. I have been told that by multiple sources. I know no more."

Dobson, gagai and Uate missed four tackles...each.

That edge scares the shit outta me
