If last weeks form is anything to go by and WT can shut down Raiders play makers by being in their face all game WT should win it. But whats form??

Did Danny Galea get injured for Raiders? I'd have thought he would have liked to front up against WT.

Bring it on, I think it's the best time to play Canberra Away, start of the year during the day when it's still warm. Not a happy trip in Mid-Winter.

If we have the same defensive attitude we showed against the Eels then we should have enough points in us to cover Raiders. In saying that the Raiders have showed more heart and commitment this year than a lot more fancied teams, if we expect an easy game down there they will get us.

If we defend well we win.

happy with the team.

two backrowers on the bench has me thinking that either ellis or heighno may get a rest at some stage, hopefully heighno.

payten starting in 11 then moving to the frontrow for first change and a back rower coming on works very well with our bench rotation. it stops the problem we had the first two rounds of two new props coming on the field together around the 20 minute mark (incidently around the time we went to sh*t in both games)

Is J Cayless dropped or injured?
Raiders have a big side but very slow looking, especially with Tongue at hooker, no Travis Waddell and 4 big forwards on the bench.
Hopefully Benji & Robbie can carve up.

They have absolutely no attacking spark out of Campese and to an extent Dugan. Their pack is huge, but unmobile and Robbie + Benji should run rings around them.

Remember similar concerns last year when they had four props on the bench and we had our usual under-sized bench. We beat them then and, whilst I'm not underestimating them, if we play as well as last week we should beat them again. With Fulton, Gibbs & Payten all playing, and hopefully our line speed as quick as last week, we should control them around the ruck, nullifying any size advantage.

Essentially, if we shut down the halves, then their backs won't have any impact. Most sides have backs that can inject themselves if the halves are being dominated, and can create opportunities, like Inglis, Hayne, Hodges, Gidley etc.

Personally, the Raiders backs aren't at that stage just yet imo. They're tough to stop when they have momentum and room and have the ability to run up a cricket score. But if the halves are kept quiet, they'll struggle and will rely heavily on the forwards to sway momentum their way.

We should play up the middle frequently and almost exclusively for most of the first half, try and wear them out early, and run riot against them in the second half.

Good to see Shames rewarding Moors for a great game with the Magpies scoring a couple of tries last week against the Jets. Fitzy or Fulton should be dropped.

Cayless is a disgrace. He was a monster when he played for the Roosters and I always though he was better than Nathan. I was mega excited about this signing. I didn't realise some dude that looks like he contracted aids while in England and weighs 40kg's was coming back in his place.

I'm just looking through last weeks stats.

Beau Ryan made 248 metres on the weekend, more than any other player last round.

Also Galloways minutes are increasing. Last year he was doing mostly between 35-45 mins per game.

Last week he did 54, more than Gibbs and Payten.
