One thing that was evident yesterday was just how slow we are. Everything is done in slow motion. And our backline has to be the slowest in the comp, literally….by a long way…
I was sitting in the grandstand on the halfway line and usually my head would move right to left like watching a tennis match but when we had the ball and trying to execute our attacking structures I found myself nodding so my senses were telling me we were mostly going across the field and back. That is not a good sign.

Well I live on the Gold Coast and the front page story is labelled " The rise of the Titans". Reporting a heroic understrength Titans team snatched victory from the Jaws of defeat against a full strength Dragons team. As a result the ticket sales for the M1 clash between Titans and Broncos have excellerated towards a sell out. Thank you Dragons. About sums up our current team and coach. I'd expect more people laughing at me as I walk my dog this week wearing my dragons gear.

Excellent analysis @be55 . As I keep trying to explain to my long suffering missus - "there is just no deception in our attack." The opposition can see from a kilometre away who is going to get the ball and defend accordingly. Our successful attack relies on a defensive mistake from the opposition or an unexpected offload. Not nearly good enough!
And further when was the last time you saw Lomax or Suli actualy create space for themselves and beat players with sidestep swerve & acceleration.....they have this bloody annoying habit of repeatably trying to bash and barge their way through the defence ..(in particular Lomax that does an up and down step and tries to tow blokes upfield).... .and whilst Im on the subject another thing that annoys the crap out of me is when Hunt doesnt run the ball to the defensive line, far to many times he receives the ball then runs back to where the pill came from and litterley just hands it to a flat footed forward....just a ridiculous waste of the tackle count....

It's been 10 years of trying to build a team and we continue to fail ...... They the Board should all be sacked .....

I've booked another in late August too with friends and relatives Rome to Greek Islands figured after analysing what has been done at the club that we won't be playing semi finals football again this season. It hurts to say that
Well you should be getting much more enjoyment from all your travels Jo than going through the heartache that is the Dragons. No doubt though you will be keeping a watch on the scores when you are away, like I have done so many times.

The world is a beautiful place which has to be really looked after for the people of the future.

I said before and I am relying on my past personal experiences here, when people in authority in senior management whether it be a football club or a public entity make decisions and those decisions turn out to be poor very few if any will throw their hands up and admit they made a mistake. I usually find them hiding under desks or under the boardroom table looking for a middle manager scapegoat to use as a sacrificial lamb. Nothing has changed it is the way business is done and unfortunately we have very little say in it even as members or employees. Our club has lacked foresight and ability to develop new plans and strategies at the very least for the past 10 yrs and we are seeing the outcomes of their decision making on the playing field. Not only has the coach got to go but those responsible in the boardroom and that is your sticking point and until that is also fixed we won't be playing semi finals football again before 2025 in my humble opinion

I fully agree. What I don't get is that prior to us landing Bennett for 2009-2011, the people entrusted with the overseeing of the Joint Venture must have determined what the club needed to get us to that final hurdle and achieve that trophy in 2010. We had Nathan Brown in charge and while he did quite well, the Board must have thought that all the players needed was a guy who could do just that little more change with the squad to get a team capable of winning the comp besides what that guy has the reputation of being able to man manage the team - they signed Wayne Bennett.

Now for the few years after Bennett left, we had Price, then McGregor. Surely they would have been able to make proper judgement that we needed someone much better than those two and searched high and low to get the man they thought would be able to do a Bennett job. I know they tried getting Bennett again but News Corp found a way to lure him back to the Broncos, so someone that was similar. I don't know who was around at that time but surely there would have been much better coaches around to replace Mary. We ended up with Griffin because the guys that they really wanted "did not want to come to the Dragons". How hard did they try? Money talks all languages and our Bossman, Mr Bruce should have been persuaded to do his thing by hook or by crook to lure the best before Hook was given the satisfaction of standing in front of the TV cameras saying how glad he got the job.

The murky water in the rivers have gone up and down for so long and it is now time for the members of the Board to really do their utmost in securing the best guy that is now available or becoming available or able to get out of deals to be available to be our head coach in 2024 if not sooner.

I'm sorry that this post is included in this R6 Titans thread.

Sullivan played 1 game of reggies and did more in that than Amone has done in his time in reggies. That alone should hopefully justify Bud getting his spot back especially after Amone's poor performance. Dragons look so more threatening with Sully as he takes some pressure off Hunt with some decent runs looking for runners or his kicking.

The media a quick to say players are not thinking straight if they are in contract negotiations like Moses was or if they are not sure who will be coaching them next season which impacts their game. What about a kid who is about to go to court to fight criminal charges. Surely that would be playing in his mind. Another reason Sullivan should be picked. But hey, Hunt said he "Loves playing with Junior" and the coach has some gripe with Bud so poor Sullivan is on a hiding to nothing.

Lomax getting bashed by fans which I don't get. He scored the try no body else would at the Dragons taking the bomb as nothing else was happening and they resort to the boring put up a bomb and hope for the best tactic. He missed a goal. Big deal. Eels lost 3 or 4 games this season by 2 points did Moses get blamed for missing a goal. Wow. Lomax and Rava have a really good combo going so Hook decides to change that. Rava knows Lomax better than anyone and when to expect the flick pass that has scored them plenty of tries in the past but that attacking threat is now gone.

Hunt more or less threatens to leave Saints into the sunset if Hook goes. He has no care factor for the club just his own interests and Hook's. I know he is defending the coach and a mate but that was a bit to much for me personally as I took it as a threat and if Saints cave in to that, then the board is in much worse shape than we think. . If he really cared for the club he would try hooker for a few games with Amone and Sully in the halves and see what happens. Nothing to lose. Actrually plenty to lose because if Saints go so much better it will justify what most fans are thinking and keep Hunt at 9 which he is not wanting to play only for Qld.

Lomax isn't getting "bashed" for the goal miss. Yes, he should have kicked that goal, the only clutch goal he's ever kicked was against the tigers last year. But people are actually upset with his defence more than anything. It was so noticeable watching the game live, but I'd suggest watching the replay or even maybe just the Kayo mini or something. The Titans' line breaks and half breaks came almost exclusively down Lomax's side of the field. He was caught in field pretty much every time they shifted the ball to that edge. If he's not in field, he's up past the rest of the defensive line creating holes for the opposition, and he's simply too slow to cover them simply going around him and finding space through the holes he creates. The Phillip Sami try came off the back of Lomax being caught in field and giving the Titans plenty of space to work with, before running around in circles and getting no one. Isaako's try in the dolphins game came off Lomax planting his feet for no reason allowing them space on the outside. We had the numbers in that situation, but Zac created a try for them.

I watched the game live, I saw the players in their downtime the day before the game. There has been suggestions that the playing group is split into 2 camps the Hunt pro Griffin and the other camp get rid of Griffin headed by Lomax/ Lawrie. Just watch how those particular players played on Sunday add in young Sloan who may have said he buried the hatchet with the coach. However actions speak louder than words and the stat's tell the tale. There is no doubt seeing the team in their downtime and gametime that we have a team divided. However make up your own mind
