I think we'll see Houston moved to lock and Rochow back into his usual place out wide. Houston deserves his place in the team- it just needs to be in a role where his only responsibility is carting the ball forward.

This. Love the bloke in the middle as long as he's not shirt grabbing. He can't be on an edge anymore. Not sure what Bennett was thinking last week.

Just on last week, imagine the amount of points we could have scored with an attacking backrower with skill getting the same ball Houso got last week. I really think we could have crossed three or four times.

I still don't want Houston in the side anywhere because he misses too many important tackles, gives away too many penalties and his general impact for a bloke his size is awful. However I could cop him in the middle to replace Mason/Smith and hope his game improves if he only has running to focus on. I thought he was pretty good against Canberra tbh.

No problem with Houston being in the side, provided he's not stifling our ball movement on the edges. Put him in the middle or not at all.

Think some people's opinion of Rochow has been clouded by some shit form. Last year he was tremendous out wide and up there as one of our most reliable forwards. Number of try assists getting the ball out to BJ, Jimmy and back on the inside to Boyd. Haven't taken much notice where he's played off the bench, but it's clear he's better off as an edge player.

I'd have Houston off the bench playing in the middle, especially this week with Mason out. Just please, nowhere near the edge.

The Newcastle Knights welcome back Kade Snowden for Saturday night’s against the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs at ANZ Stadium.

Snowden was rested last week due to concussion, and replaces Willie Mason (suspended) in an otherwise unchanged line-up for round eight.

Jake Mamo, who made his NRL debut in place of the injured (knee) Akuila Uate, retains his spot on the wing while Jeremy Smith has been named, however he'll be assessed through the week for knee soreness.

Maybe. I just find it hard to read into the Tuesday teams too much when we usually have a mountain of changes come game day.

Oh for f**k sake. One thing that pisses me off about Wayne is that he doesn't make needed changes and persists with players.

Rochow seems to be falling down the list too :(

Anyone think Tets showed a bit bigger motor last week??? He's usually fugged after 10 minutes but seemed to keep up for the time he was out there.

I don't have his stats but they couldn't have been too bad.

Hard to replace House with another backrower when the NSW Cup team is getting beaten just as badly. He was outstanding when he was demoted. I would start him alongside Snowden in the front row or not at all. Cuthbo to the second row as a starter and push Tets to the bench.

Not expecting us to win, I just hope the dogs don't put a cricket score on us.

Has Bennett written the game off and is resting Smith?

Why would you write a game off when we're 2-5 and effectively one prop short of being full-strength?

Because our only wins this year have been against teams that were clueless, the dogs aren't going that bad.

Bennett isn't dumb, he'll know we need a miracle to get close to the dogs so he is giving Smith a rest to get him right for a more winnable game.

It's the NRL, every game is 'winnable'. The Dogs are going good but have only won their last 3 by a field goal.

No way has Bennett written this game off.

We can win. Smith has been useless while he's injured anyway so it's actually strengthening us bringing someone else in.

My central concern is that our defence is leaking like a sieve and the dogs will just rumble forward with their big men.

Last year our defence was good even when we couldn't buy a try. Not so this year.
