I'm really looking forward to seeing Peni (for your thoughts) being given a go.The few times i've seen him he looked very exciting. He could be a smokey for the fullback spot next year, let's hope he stay's healthy so he can show us what he's got.I think he is a good player.

Good to see Florence getting the #1 Jersey
I still hold out hope for Boyd but Nighty has the talent to shine and he'll prove it against the Eels

Putting Nightingale at fullback is about as good as putting Boyd on the wing. One is a specialist Fullback and one is a specialist winger. I think the motivation behind this is not to put Stanley under pressure until he has a full pre season of training in the position. At this stage Nightingale is best versed in the 'goings on' of the back three in our team, hence this decision. I really hope Boyd stays. I felt the life get sucked out of me when he went off against the Roosters and that is what it will be like week in week out next year and it f**king sux. I love watching him play football (for the dragons).

Soward is going to have to get more involved with Boyd out. Nightingale doesn't have the ball-playing ability that Boyd does so both Jamie and Hornby are going to have to be very busy over the next few weeks.

Bennett had enough confidence in Nightingale to play him all over the park in ’09 and he’s always been listed as a wing /fullback.
The few games that I’ve seen him play have given me the opinion that he can play anywhere in the back line. He has real skill and vision as a ball player. Let’s see what happens over the next few weeks.
Boyd was thought to be a specialist wing by Brisbane and not rated by many on this forum as a fullback prior to him actually doing the job for us these past few years

Also wouldn't be surprised if Bennett makes a late change and puts Kyle at fullback, Rein to the bench.

This way Kyle doesn't have to deal with any media crap building up to the game.

Who knows...

Ok so its pretty obvious that you are obsessed with the idea of Nightingale playing fullback. I think he is without a doubt the best winger in the competition at the moment. Where you are getting this idea that he will make a great fullback has got me beat?
I think you're entitled to your opinion but i really think you have got this wrong. There is no doubt in my mind that he will do a fine job for the dragons the next few weeks. He won't let anyone down and will probably do some good things but he does not have real skill and vision as a ball player. I think you just want him to. I remember him trying to throw some pathetic cut out passes against the raiders last year in wollongong. He is not a ball player. Jamie Soward said so and i think he is in a better position to judge then you.

f**k we must have a strong 2nd string squad. Where are they playing and how are they traveling?

What exactly did Soward say and when?
Bennett chose Nightingale for fullback; now I know that he's clueless but he may even (on rare occasion) have better judgement than you. Why not wait and see?

Soward mentioned this on NRL on Fox a couple of weeks ago.

I'd prefer Nightingale at No 1 he's Mr Reliable and won't let anybody down.

We'll see more changes when rep footy starts so prob Goodwin will also get his run soon.

Good depth and hopefully we can continue our charge.

With training, Nightingale can become a decent ball playing fullback but he's a more natural winger IMO.
