Playing the Tigers next week. We lose that game, I'm not watching anything for the rest of the season. Gotta go cold turkey.

I'm going to just call it now and pick a team to pretend to care about for the remainder of the season. They won't be my new team, but they'll be who I tell people I support should I wish to save face while still discussing rugby league.

Logically we need a Save our Saints kind of movement to let the club know that we're over the constant f**kery.

At the same time though I absolutely don't give enough of a shit.

Yeah, Sione getting an absolute bath today.

Yep and we probably paid a small fortune to hang onto him because of the hype. I am yet to see anything at all in Sione that doesn't say 'decent enough first grader'. Superstar quality? I just don't see it.

He defended like this in an U20s finals match last year too. I don't remember his opposite centre was, but the guy absolutely dominated him.

Solomone kata, who is probably on 100k a season and winning games with the warriors.

If sione is on 450k it's about 300k too much.

Agreed. I live in Canberra so I'm getting behind the Raiders if we lose next week. At least they're entertaining and their mahogany flair winger actually does something good.

Loving watching Willie tear us apart. Yeah he definitely is too old and has no impact. Faalogo and Houston definitely have done more. The most impact our forwards have had was Sims' sack wack on Mason.

We pay a small fortune for players because we have to match what other teams will pay them on the open market. We don't make good retention decisions, generally because we struggle to bring players here - so we retain out of desperation.

That's right, it was too. And the difference that day and every day since is pretty clear. Kata ate him for breakfast in that game.

We just don't play it smart. 18-year-old outside backs are supposed to be the kind of players who come in and give you a few great years before you have to upgrade their contracts - you can build a roster around filling gaps with quality youth that doesn't take up much salary cap. You have to find money for the quality in the spine somewhere.

But we end up paying overs for 3 brothers who in all likelihood will never be anything other than decent.

And there it is in a nutshell.

Until we create a system and culture that allows the club to bring in fringe guys and make them better nothing will change.

What cashed up young player wants to come live in Newcastle? It's a nice place to raise a family or retire, but not exactly a cosmopolitan social hub.

To be honest I don't think anyone could coach this current Knights team to success. Bennett was a successful coach until he came here.

Seriously though a coach gets whatever he deserves if doesn't have balls and keeps persisting with the same derps week after week.

Back when we appointed Stone I said I had my doubts due to his inability to drop players to which I was hit with a barrage of hate lol.

You're right, but at the same time if the Raiders and the Titans can attract quality halves (surprise packets or otherwise) then we should be able too.

I would have let all the Mata'utias go as soon as the Bulldogs thing came out. You made a decision, fine, see you later boys. We could sure use that money to find just one player in the spine that is genuine quality.

Gagai definitely looks the goods at fullback. He must stay there.

Those high, deep kicks from Roberts in the 1st half were a total waste.
I reckon Randell showed enough to be given a go at 7. No clue what his kicking game is like.
