In sum, there are some potential prospects here for Burt to work with. Let's name them:
1. Gray. Could be very good given his chance. Probably left Gould because Mahony is there.
2. Both centers. Work to do on defense but #3 could definetly be a starter. Myers can kick and both of them have good size.
3. Williams #20. Carroll kept praising him and that's a good enough reference in my book. Needs work on his fitness but he could become a Bennett favourite. Hard worker does the dirty work for the playmakers.
4. Thompson. What he really needs is greater effort at training. Has the size and strength to be a constant worry for all opponents gets run metres but laziness can destroy his game. If Burt can get him very fit and motivated he would be a starter.

Our pathways are a disaster, our club at the moment is atrocious in all facets of recruitment and retention and coaching and etc. Needs a blow up there new assistant coaches, new pathways manager, glad that joe o callaghan is gone.

I would not take 1 player from our jersey flegg or our nsw cup team to the first grade squad!!!!

Every first grade injury decimated the lower grades beneath. Then, those grades have their own injuries which further impact the grades below them. This year, we have copped more than our fair share of injuries and, as I said, it filters down to the grades below.

Half our first grade side for much of the year is made up of NSW cup players who have grown with the extended time in 1st grade and will be better players for it next year but likely to start the season back in Cup if they're still with us.

so if our recruitment and retention was good shouldnt the injuries copped in first grade resulted in our apparant good players in jersey flegg or reserve grade making the step up??

our recruitment is terrible!!!!!!

every player that steps up for the storm roosters and penrith that come from there pathways teams are all first grade standard ours have been well below par.

Storm have had there fair share amount of injuries and there coming first.

Yes and no. Our recruitment under Demetriou has been a major fail. He has died by that sword.

Depends how many injuries and how long they are though if we are to compare. We have been smashed worse than those clubs and from early in the season all the way through. I think you're being very harsh if we are to be compared to the top 2 teams in the comp too. Penrith's nursery is unrivalled and the Storm have their feeder clubs up in Queensland doing a great job for a long time with Bellamy processing the production line of Storm-style players forever.

Fact is, a lot of our young Flegg players this year, for example, are getting fast tracked in their development spending more time than expected playing against open aged men in NSW Cup and while they have struggled for results, it will pay off in future seasons when we hopefully cop better luck with stretching our depth less thin.

Cheers.

Both Pathways team copped another hiding.

Our club is in ruins, a big brush needs to be run through the whole club.

NSW cup lead 10 -6 at the 30 min when Le Blanc, Gray and Shaq were all replaced at the same time. While they were off Jets scored 26 - 0. Lack of depth is pretty clear.

We're second last in both Flegg and Cup at the minute. If it wasn't for the Fiji Silktails joining our Flegg comp and being, so far, uncompetitive, we'd be dead last but we will avoid the spoon there. The Tigers are 9th and battling for the finals so, strong favourites against us.

Meanwhile in the Cup game against the Maggies, it is a deadset spoon play-off game with Wests currently last on 12 points but with a bye up their sleeve while we're on 15 points. So, a loss and factor in that bye they still have and we could be staring down the barrel of going from the penthouse to the shithouse i.e. premiers to wooden spooners in Cup this year if we lose the curtain raiser at Campbelltown this arvo.

Well Flegg got flogged 36-20 but Cup got up (I'm a poet and I don't know it 😜) 28-14 with a 5 tries to 3 result.

Ty Ty scored try try ( i.e. 2 tries) on return to playing so good to see his name on the score sheet again.

One of them there was solid contract and a quality fend from TyTy so shows some good strength in that collarbone to give him some confidence

Happy for him to just get through to the end of the season safely and be right for a big preseason where he looks to bulk the eff up. ;)
