If he doesn't get any better offers, he could slot into our NSW Cup team nicely and be a decent back up if needed. We are a bit thin in the halves at that level, particularly if/when Humphreys and Gray are able to secure spots in the NRL 17.

If Dodd is out, it depends what is happening with Humphreys as in, if he has won the #9 jersey and is going well, and Wayne doesn't want to shift Cody to half either, then promoting Madden to fill in would be a good option to keep other players in their regular positions for the sake of consistency and building form.

My guess is that Wayne wasn't prepared to guarantee him a starting spot or even a spot in the 17 every week. NQ have 2 even more established edge backrowers so good luck getting in their starting 13. He'll be bench at best up there.
