Limited News just love piling onto the Rabbitohs and amplifying anything negative into a full blown catastrophic category 5 disaster that they can then feed off incessantly like Sharks taking to a whale carcass.

We all need to ignore the outside noise as much as we can.

Well 2 players are turning 25 and 26 in jan 2025 and Max is turning 20 in feb 2025 whom is young, so turning 25 + 26 in jan 2025 that is not young they are not a house hold name and im sceptical why not buy international players like the rorters or the purple puke do???

So burns is turning 27 in jan 2025 why do souths call him young he aint young he is a seasoned recruit at that age im confused regis????

If it was 3 penrith gun juniors with pedigree then that's the go we don't need any more sub ordinary players hanging around the club like kennar, ilias, hawkins, Thompson milne, mamouzelos, Myers, shaq Mitchell, host, teapou, etc etc etc gee whiz the list goes on and on my club has far far too many duds at souths do the rorters and the purple puke recruit like this above absolutely they dont.

Because we cant afford internationals, we need to bolster our stocks,i agree i would be pinching sgball players but our backups are crap and thats what these are for, we should still be after 19year olds

Melbourne rarely recruit rep players. They regularly recruit journeymen and no names and turn them into gun players.

Souths have done reasonably well over the years picking up no name players and late bloomers like Cook and Walker, Nicholls, Sele and turning them into excellent players while some have also turned out to be duds.

Hubner and Burns are obviously guys Wayne and his spies have selected up there while McCarthy is from Sydney and we have to hope he develops the way a young Tatola did when we plucked him from the Tigers lower grades some years ago.

It's not always doom and gloom. There's too much fire and brimstone and hating on our club for my liking.

Whatever happens with Latrell - we definitely need more matches played especially given the $$$ he is on. With suspensions, injuries and origin - it's just not enough. Whilst Gray has shown great effort, I don't think he is big enough as a stand-in fullback. We need a 2nd option.

Below is a table showing Latrell's matches compared to other key fullbacks. He is on a lot of money per match.....

Very interesting well done.

Even so, that ponga figure- he’s the games highest paid player, so maybe offers the worst dollar value.

$1.4m a year, so far he’s played 11 matches. $127,000 a match. $26 a second.

Then you turn to how many games he’s won them personally. You could take a stab at it, but my bet he’s pretty expensive. You’d factor in kicks, tries, try assists, maybe add something for metres, throw in some clutch tackles.

The average player is about $400k or so in the roster.

So the knights are arguing he’s worth 3-4 times that with that grand settlement.

Now, compared to Latrell, we might be tempted to consider how many of his non appearances are down to suspensions. Go further and say these are usually if not always preventable. And like everyone else, I don’t expect him to play a full and proper season.

in fact, i think he was much better at the roosters, but then he went off and the sourness it leaked into his game, probably bad influences.

Whereas Ponga, I could be wrong but I think he’s injured a lot. He doesn’t strike me as a great person either tbh.

Both lack a certain consistency.

I’m a big Gutho fan and I want the Tigers to sign him. I’ve been set upon for that but I love his overall game.

Good table. The frustrating thing with Trell though are that some of those absences as well as the way he prepares himself are very much self-inflicted whereas Ponga, Turbo and Pap do the right things to try and stay on the field.

Tell us all more about how Trell prepares himself for playing please. Very interesting.

Well, he is not the fittest rugby league fullback in the history of the game for starters. That comes down to preparation.
Do you think with his particular physique and genetic make up that he could or should be "the fittest rugby league fullback in the history of the game" as you put it and is that the standard you choose to set for him?

But, do go on. Tell us more about his actual preparation to play at the highest levels of the game in more detail please. Fascinating.

He was playing really well before he broke his foot. He has prepared himself well enough to play State of Origin and for Australia for years. So, how would you know about his preparation standards for playing? Do you spend long hours watching him at South Sydney training? Do you have conferences with the coaching and training staff at Souths - or NSW or Australia - HQ? Wondering how you know these things, that's my real point.

The other issue with Latrell is the number of indiscretions - of the 11 matches he has played for the Bunnies this year he has been charged 4 times. That's 36% of his matches (and caused 3 matches missed). His contract should be changed to payment per game :)

Don't care if he pays fines out of his own pocket. Only care about penalties he has given away and suspensions obviously. Waereah-Hargreaves has a rap sheet 3 times as long and no one is saying the same thing for him. Please. This is just deliberately stretching things out to be much worse than they actually are.

It's a fair dinkum lynching!
