Souths letting Reynolds go was an OK decision. You can't keep too many old players in the squad. The problem is that Souths are now holding on to Cody forever and letting a young player like Gray go. Cody should have retired this year

The big mistake was letting Keary go. He went on to win 2 premierships elsewhere and collected a Clive Churchill medal as well

Souths have terrible with their recruitment the last few years and are getting worse. David Fifita shapes as a bad signing
Seriously? Keary a bigger loss than Reyno. Roosters would have won those 2 premierships whether Keary was there or not.

I have been proven right! I’ll sleep well tonight all those who went at me you now all have egg on your faces! I called it 4 years ago and here we are! Proof in the pudding.

If Solly could come out and say how wrong he got it I would shut up but the bloke is arrogant and a coward so it won’t happen.

There is a new Adam Reynolds book coming out end of October I’m gonna buy it I think it’s called on my own terms should be a good read.

People saying Reyno did nothing tonight must’ve watched a different game and without Reyno try assist last week for Staggs and kicking that conversion they don’t make it tonight. Don’t underestimate what an affect Reyno has had on this playing group and his leadership it’s been quite simply phenomenal but the bitter ones on here know deep down even if they can’t admit it.

Kind Regards Cookie

Mate... He played 40 minutes, kicked it out on the full then blew out his hammy. Souths weren't winning a premiership with him in the squad and the Broncos won because of Reece Walsh.

He might not have had his best game in the GF but it's indisputable that the Broncos were there in big part to Reyno getting them there.

Yeah I think his leadership around the club was maybe more important than what he did on the field. He was still able to perform when at a high level when fit.
If it was south’s in last nights Grand final and we lost because Reynolds suffered another leg related injury what would everyone on here be saying?
Remember they were down when he went off.
And they won.
Walsh gets more involved when he’s not on the field and it’s no coincidence they went on a winning run after Reyno was injured in the storm game 6 weeks ago.

Nah the Broncos won the GF because Walsh went to another level in the finals. He is an unbelievable talent. I would go as far to say out of all the halves at Brisbane, Reynolds played the worst. Ezra Mam and Ben Hunt were both more crucial to their premiership.

Reynolds should have never been allowed to leave south’s we all agree.
But it’s happened we need to move on.
Finally even if he was still in a south’s jersey he alone doesn’t change our fate, our roster is not good enough to win a premiership at the moment
Forward pack is too small, back line is too slow and too injury prone

Hold on didn’t you see the prelim? His assist for Staggs turned the game and then the GK at end. Without those they don’t make the GF

It wasn’t an ok decision I fully disagree it’s been a disaster and Solly if he had integrity would fall on his sword.

We still don’t have a 7 four years later going into a 5th year next year.

Sorry I fully disagree with you

RABBITOHS

Players off contract end of 2026
: Cody Walker, Jamie Humphreys, Jye Gray, Keaon Koloamatangi, Sean Keppie, Moala Graham-Taufa

Analysis: The big news out of Redfern is that they are targeting David Fifita if he can get a release from the final year of his Titans deal in 2026, which could impact their off-contract stars next season, as they try to make room in their salary cap for the former Origin star. One of the other rare bright spots this season has been Jye Gray at fullback, but he has been linked with a move to the R360 competition. The diminutive fullback has proven time and time again he has to be in the Rabbitohs’ best 17. If Latrell Mitchell is willing to commit to a permanent shift to the centres, Gray should be a priority signing for Souths, but if he moves on they will be on the lookout for a No.1 if Mitchell stays in the centres or converts to five-eighth. The Rabbitohs have both their starting halves in Cody Walker and Jamie Humphreys coming off-contract in 2026. Walker is expected to retire, while Humphreys needs a big season to convince Wayne Bennett he is in his long-term plans. He’ll be battling with rising star and new recruit Jonah Glover for the No.7 jersey in the off-season. The glaringly obvious name that Rabbitohs fans will want their club to lock up before November 1 is Keaon Koloamatangi. The middle forward was outstanding this season and one of the few bright spots for Souths in a tough 2025 campaign, going close to earning a Blues recall and recently being picked for the Kangaroos Ashes squad. Koloamatangi signed a two-year extension with the club in 2023 in the October before the deadline. The fact he only inked two years could be an indication he wanted to see where the club was at, at this time. If that’s the case, Koloamatangi may look to get out of a struggling Rabbitohs team in search of greener pastures. Sean Keppie struggled last season and is unlikely to earn a new deal, unless he improves in 2026 and the price is right.

Potential targets: Souths have watched Adam Reynolds make two Grand Finals and win a premiership since they forced him out of the club and until they find a No.7 they will live to regret the worst blunder in their history. Adding to that calamitous decision, Cody Walker is nearing retirement and Latrell Mitchell might not be far behind him, after saying he might not play past his 30th birthday in the past. Jamie Humphreys is potentially the answer, but he might be a better option at hooker, while Jye Gray is being chased by R360, so Souths could be without halves and a fullback in a year’s time. Mitchell could switch to five-eighth for the back end of his career, which means they still need a No.7 and No.1 to contend for a title. The club should go hard for Jayden Campbell and make him their fullback if Gray leaves and make a big play at Jonah Pezet to build the team around. The Storm star is allowed to leave after Jahrome Hughes re-signed and he could form a devastating partnership with Mitchell and Campbell, with Humphreys at hooker in a new look spine.

There is no way you actually believe Reynolds was the one who led them to a premiership. Reynolds did literally zero in the grand final and Hunt was the one who kicked the field goal against Penrith. Reynolds is a good decent player but he was never taking Souths to a premiership. He was broken down for half the season and was pretty much non existent when Brisbane needed him. We made the right decision letting him go but we should've signed a halfback that was actually experienced rather than putting all our money into Illias. Brisbane actually played better footy without Reynolds on the field because he only brings a kicking game and can barely convert goals these days. We have enough injury prone players without Reynolds.
