Hmmm ... lacks a little size in the forwards/bench for my taste. Although Eddie has been playing like a player twice his size.

Have to say I'm not a Lowe Brothers fan at this stage.

Great to see Wing back.

if you take a superficial look at them, nothing special. no tries this year, no back hand offloads in traffic, no bellringers of hits. but looks closer. for their limited game time they have both gotten through a lot of work in the first 2 games. i know b.lowe, in less then 40 minutes last week, made 27 tackles and 8 hit ups. j.lowe isnt far behind. it appears as though they are being groomed as hard working tradesmen type players, ergo luke stuart, which we are going to be in need of when baz retires

Yeah, I can see that and understand the idea behind it.

I'm just of the opinion that the Lowes + McPherson is maybe a few too many "grinders" ... especially when Stuart is more worker than impact player - although he can seemingly do anything this year and last.

Eddie is the only forward other than Stuart who is genuinely making an impact. Even Roy has been quiet ... he hasn't really dominated for a long time (we need more from him and soon). Fa'alogo has been struggling for form for about a year as well. Kidwell is trying and shows good aggression, it's just his brain lets him down too often - usually resulting in dumb penalties or pushed passes - which are things you don't want from a senior player.

I'd like to see some more muscle in the team, but that said if Roy clicks into gear; Stuart maintains his titanic workload; Eddie keeps bending the defensive line and rattling the ball carriers in defence; and everyone else lifts just five to 10 per cent ... then that's probably enough to compete with the best packs in the competition.

Jt has selected a pretty handy side.

But I would give Eddie a start and drop Ben Lowe for Greenfield on the bench for some oompf.

Nice backline sans Max.

I like the return of Champion and Wing.

With Best and Champion we msut have the lallest centre combo in the NRL. Nothing against Corrigan who hasn't done anything wrong in his two games, but Champion brings experience and ability to the team.

With Wing we have more positions covered in case of injury. Simpson is not a #9.

The problem still lays with our forwards. I don't like our backrow especially our second rowers Lowe and McPherson. Aand asI have said a million times and will say here again Stuart is not a prop.

i feel sorry for simpson - he was really strong coming off the bench in both games - unfortunately someone had to miss out - at least competition for a place is so tight you cannot afford even 1 average game - he's way to good to leave out

Simpson is really strong with the ball in hand but struggles out wide in defence. That is why Souths are using him as a Hooker. Defence is easier to read in the centre.

I would rather Simpson than Corrigan on the wing but Corrigan is probably the better defender out there, and I THINK that's why he's there

does anyone know if champs is coming straight back from injury into the team or did he have a hit out last week with wing? i would have slotted simpson in his place if so

he's been performing well at prop. i think we'll see him shift back to the second row when geddes and greenfield are back... but until then, i dont really think it matters... and i'd actually rather see him stay in the front row, cause i reckon greenfield could wreak havoc on the fringes

This side has a scent of last minute positional changes in it.

B.Lo and McPherson really need to stand up.

Kidwell has been better lately.

And its wingy's first game back, so he will be a bit sensitive, but hes an amazing player.

Champion is a fg player these days, not a superstar, but solid enough.

Wesser has surprised us all.

Sugar and I met Sutto last weekend, he didnt say anything about it directly , but I think he wants that blues jersey. He knows he needs a big game here to improve his chances.

Pettybourne is just white-hot atm.

We have a good chance of nailing this one, but I think we need JT to be a bit more creative and ambitious.

The game plan almost worked last week, but that didnt see us home. It was a bit 2008 if you ask me. We were never going to beat their massive and highly tuned forwards. You could see that 20 mins into the game.

We have to get in their faces in defence like we did v Roosters, we didnt do that on Friday and we missed too many tackles and failed to wrap up the ball. We can cop a few mistakes, but a multitude of them, well they all add up and we end up beating ourselves. Ther was a bit of that last week. But fortunately, we can fix that.

It wasnt a real good game to watch live. Too much of a wrestle. Our forwards were dominated and the eels aimed up too often.

But in general, we are still miles ahead of where we were this time last year.
