The Purple One all the way. Prolific and prolifically talented, Prince exhibited more musical invention and imagination in 2 songs than RATM managed in their entire career. The list of worldwide monster hit songs is formidable:
Purple Rain, When Doves Cry, Kiss, 1999, Little Red Corvette, Raspberry Beret, I Would Die 4 U, Lets Go Crazy, Sign O The Times, Nothing Compares 2 U, Seven, Thieves In The Temple, Gett Off, Cream, Diamonds & Pearls, Money Dont Matter 2 Night, Sexy MF.
His 2004 album Musicology shows Prince is as funky and creative now as he ever was.

Prince, RATM were ok but had nowhere near the influence and talent that the fruity little Purple guy possesses. The guy was the man at his peak in the mid '80s.

Prince was far more talented then RATM, he was even a great actor lol.

Prince had some awesome songs, but one of my favourites of all time is Purple Rain, god i love this song to death & the guitar solo at the end is fantastic!
