Mate, I thought I would score 8.......I won't complain thats not my go.....but gee, some of those Panthers ones weren't 8.5's either

I have to admit... I am seriously surprised... and extremely disappointed. That score on Chippo's article was EXTREMELY low in my honest opinion...

hmm maybe its my blind optimism but i thought chippo's was a bit better than that, but team we cant let this sort of thing get in the way, we arnt out at all, got at least 1 game left to impress, results have little bearing on the comp good and proper

seriously bummed about that ay... was a bit of a surprised i though chippo's was our best yet it scored the lowest :?

Ahh well, we will press on with proceedings, dont worry too much about the refing, they know what they are doing so they must of seen past our blind faith :lol: the refs do a fantastic job so i guess we'll have to work harder next time

Never mind people, the green machine is temp. getting repaired and we'll be back in order come rd 2

A special mention to Souls who was our man of the match, a top article, if you can produce those scores on a regular basis you'll be a fine addition to the team.

Chippos, hard luck mate, i thought yours was a deadset cert for 8+, im sure you'll be eger as to kill it next time, and maybe in a bid to help you exact some confidence again ill promote you to the starting line up for rd.2

Ed, not a bad peice for 30 minutes work, im sure next time you'll put in some more time, and with that will come alot better marks i recon

IBG - another good article, scored reasonably high and the beauty part is i recon you could do better with some experience and time, very impressive

Kris Man - another i thought was marked a tad harshly but you get that, showed plenty of promise and will be a more than handy addition to the team, good stuff


All in all a disappointing start to our campaign but that wont stop us from trcuking on and showing them what the green machine is all about!

I'm pretty sure Willow said that it's not about the results, but more so the way in which you're able to field 5 players each week.

I think we're in with a good shot, especially considering that 69 has organized things superbly.

true that, as much as they say results dont count we gotta show we can match it with them. Rd 2 is gonna be a big one, pad up fellas, we want some ripper articles in!!

Since a rd 3 is out of the question, ill see about organising a trial with one of the top teams, just to put us in good stead (and yes im still 100% confident of making the season good and proper)

I tend to agree with you, I thought our articles were a lot more varied... but... I wouldn't go as far as to say that we lost to 'those Panther poofs'. Ya just gotta live with it, we'll get 'em next time.

The bitchin sesses here!! We dont want to be a team know for being sore lossers, thats not our style, we are above that as a team, we have suffered an early set back but we are better for the run. I dont condone bagging of refs in this what so ever, they do this out of their own time and we need them to help carry this comp. No more ref bitching, ive given the articles a second look and on the most part i agree with our scores - chippos im still a little :? over but you get that. If losing dosnt favour well with admin, bitching about a loss DEFINATLY wont. Thats not what the Green machine are about.

We'll cop this one on the chin and move on, we got the rhinos next game and im always keen as for a win over them (parramatt cut me from the rhinos a while back... im cool with him now, just love to get a win over him :twisted: )

it's OK tho, i'm not gonna ref bash. i'll just lower the target IQ of my articles in the future, try to be a bit less intelligent.

kris man, the refs are very intelligent, most of them were once A-Class 7's writers themselves, they call it how they see it. An 8.2 is a top class effort for your first time, my first article scored a 7.5 and i thought i was mark harshly
my next scored 7.9 so once you get one run or two under the belt you begin to see what the markers look for, it about content, the structure, originality and style (not sure what gorilla ment by 'disjointed' thou, ill seek further opinion on that)

I am willing to get back at my critics :lol: seriously I think he missed the point of my article, because if you read his summary he gives a little bit of each but when it comes to mine he says "strong beliefs"

The point of my article is that Rugby League affects more than the players and the fans directly but indirectly too, that League can teach kids to strive, not just to play league but in other walks of life, I did say this piece would have been hard....

i think so too Chippo, dont worry mate, i think the topic choice was a hard one to convey, i though you nailed it but i guess the ref didnt quite get the message as clearly

no doubt next time you'll smash em next time, i think for rd 2 ill give ya my starting spot, it also solves my 2nd delima of having one both me and the a reserve on line right to the death incase we are one short for some reason


i think thats the sort of role ill play, mainly benchie to come on when we need it and the occasional start here and there :lol:
